I once confronted a bully for picking on gay guys. He was shouting out names like fag and homo. He was pretty big, and I was certain he could beta me up. But like the stupid kid I was, I went up and tried to get him to lay off. So I went over and asked him nicely, he told me to fuck off. I ask again, and he punches me out and leaves. I have no idea why I thought it was my job to play hero. It was silly of me.
