Now imagine the original release over 2 years ago. One tree, one rock, one bush, all one model. Repeated over and over. The same textures and models everywhere. NOW THAT was boring.

So two of my old guildies, and myself got into the Alpha. And compared to the original release, it's a whole new world. It looks better, handles better, better interface, less lag, jump function, and smoother overall tone.

The alpha forums are neat and tidy and it seems that Admin is paying attention to bugs and glitches found by players. It's just a completely different experience. I can't discuss too much, don't want to violate user agreement. But it's much more of a modern MMO, and if this is just the Alpha then we will be online at launch.

One of my two buddies swore he'd never give SE money again. So for him to hop on the Alpha, play for 5 solid hours, and proclaim he had a great time.....oh yeah, it's looking good!

Technically, you are in violation to a Nda agreement, which is the agreement I assume you mean. But, either way....technically, you would be in violation of the agreement, just from telling us this. So, yeah....But, you do not have to worry. I doubt much of the devs for that game are lurking here.

I figure that since SE needs money badly, that some free positive publicity could be overlooked. I'll side step system info etc. and stick to opinions.

I'm really hoping 2.0 turns out decent. I made sure to grab the game on Amazon for $10 while it was on sale. Now Amazon is forcing you to pre-order version 2.0 for $30 on PC or $40 on PS3.

Well the fact that they're including the PS3 version for preorder is reassuring.

If you have the original game and made sure to create an account then you will not need to re buy 2.0. You will get to download 2.0 for free.

Not only the download, but I believe the first month free, and then subscription should be 9/month, instead of 15/month.

The 10$/m is only if you have legacy status, which you acquired by by paying for 3 months of the initial game before a certain date, June I believe.

Ok here's the scoop for beta and roadmap to launch.

Mid February will start closed beta test phase 1. There will be approximately 4-5 months of several beta phases, with periods of de-bugging in between. So Mid to Late Summer is the proposed launch. PS3 beta will be phase 3, so right before the open beta.
