Well if you got the CE of 1.0 you can download a realm reborn for free when its released and get the first 2 weeks free still from what I remember reading. I can't find the specific source for that thought but I know I read it. This is something to be happy about if you bought the CE for 1.0 but don't qualify for legacy.

Edit: My friends want me to join them on Gilgamesh but I don't even see that as a listed server name. I've told them that but they are playing on it right now. Doesn't make any sense to me or them. Maybe its only a beta server?

Well here's a contribution to the discussion:

During 1.0, there was a point in time where there was a stamina bar.

Do you think ffxiv should have kept the stamina bar or are you glad that its gone? Why do you hate it or what ideas do you have that may have made it better?


I personally liked the idea of a stamina bar, this will prevent haste stacking like in ffxi and if anything gives armor and weapons another attribute to play with like +stam or even +%regen stam speed etc. It adds another sense of realism as well, say for a gladiator/paladin who has to look for openings to attack because they can't block while attacking and blocking takes some stamina. A larger damaging weaponskill would take more stamina while a smaller one with special effects would take a lot less stamina. This could be unique for mages too, for example they receive a boost to spell's damage/healing/etc while their stamina is higher but if they spam spells their stam will suffer. I think it was interesting and just needed some more thought and work put into it to make it a great addition and supplement change in FFXIV.

I haven't played beta for 2.0 so I have no idea if they implemented it again but I'm guessing they didn't. What are your thoughts?

I'm in withdrawals from weekends alone and I've not truly liked an MMO for 5 years. FFXIV was a sad excuse when it first released, now however it feels right and plays well. It's a worthy spiritual successor to FFXI.

I don't have the beta but I'm 90% certain that I'm going to get FF14 Realm Reborn. I'm very close to preordering the PC version.

Game is pretty nice to play. You on occasion will have to group with people for a few quests but over all you can have as little or as much player interaction that you want, assuming you can find a group. People higher level then you can help you run dungeons and you will still get normal exp and not a reduced one seeing as if they are too high it will sync them to a lower level while in there.

I'm really looking forward to the launch now, I found out my friends from many years ago are playing, we low manned numerous things on FFXI. That and a few of my old shellmates from my previous FFXIV ls have got into contact with me as well, I hope the new primal fights turn out to be challenging.

Well if they lowered the amount of group requiring for quests and stuff then that's cool with me cause sometimes it was just really frustrating to get a group for things in FFXI or to get the necessary group jobs that seemed most efficient. Perhaps that aspect will still be present but we wont see it becoming brutal till more jobs come into the game.

The new Duty Finder makes getting a party super easy. It's cross server and optimally fills the Tank/Healer/DPS slots automatically based on who is in the queue. Pick the group content you want (Dungeon, Guildhest, Primal Fight), queue up, and then do whatever you want until it's ready to go. Run your dungeon and then get dumped back where you were when it started.

Plus I'm sure there will be tons of Free Companies to choose from.
