First of all, it's not a widely known title, and it certainly is NOT a classic. Why, did this title sell well to the point that is should be in that such line, or was it out of personal preference. Please give me reasons why. It's like putting Ninja Resurrection on a line that you can call "gold", even though it's a piece of shot.

Didn't you already get an answer to this almost a year ago on the Funimation forums?

To sum it up and so I don't have to explain it there is a perfectly good answer here from joelgundam01: It's called "Marketing 101". Fluffing the numbers and the terminology are a big part of it. The word "classic" really varies from person to person. Funimation is using it really loosely here and it can mean many different things. It could be a best seller or it could be an actual classic. Funimation really hasn't really defined it, so I just treat the Classics line as a label and don't take the meaning of the word too seriously. Also, it looked like you had a least some ingenuity and knowledge to answer your own question. As another example here's another good answer (not to mention good advice) this time by Sophie [who happens to be an Administrator for the site therefore also being part of the Funimation staff]: FLCL is in the Classics line. It just doesn't have the Classics packaging. Its first release from us was labeled internally as part of Classics. Just treat Classics and S.A.V.E as pricing labels. S.A.V.E. = a release for under $30. Classics = a release for under $50. If you like a show and you want it, that's all that matters. Don't worry about its label, artistic worth, or fan reception. This is why I own Suburban Commando. Quit being a moron please. I am aware that you could also not be stupid and that you are posing the same question here for us at Crunchyroll to ponder ourselves. If that's the case I apologize and if not, again, quit being a moron. |
