I ended up compulsively buying the 500 gig PS3 Super Slim (mostly to upgrade from my older system which had minor problems) and was curious as to what other people who purchased it thought about it. aside from the DD being a little noisy when a game's in there, i don't mind it. when a game isn't in it, and i'm watching netflix, crunchyroll or playing a downloaded game it's the quietest console i've ever used.

Rich? It's only about $300. Which is about the same cost as any other system out there really. Just newer.

if only you people would actually get a job instead of spending most of your days in your room you'd actually be able to afford stuff instead of rotting in your room with your weirdness

I actually plan to buy the new Ultra Slim but for some reason I still can't get rid of my old 60GB phat. I just can't find any excuse to replace it.

I'm fine with my 320GB PS3 slim, but I may consider getting this one just because of Ryu ga Gotoku. Doesn't look all that good (the grill style thing limits the way they can design the console), but it's Ryu ga Gotoku.

I accidentally got the super slim, only thinking it was the playstation slim. The only problem I have with it is it's too light. You always have to be cautious when handling it because the system looks like it will break in a second if it were to fall. Also, I hate the ejection button, because of the fact that this super slim model is way too light, its weight isn't heavy enough for it to support itself in having a firm grip to the ground. If you try to press the ejection button with a finger, it slides back. The model itself also looks cheap, because of the plastic.

It looks good in pictures, though. Heh. You can always just eject the disc through the XMB. I read that moving your console while a disc is in it damages the disc or lens.

Also, doesn't it have those rubber squares underneath to prevent slipping/moving?

You can eject the disc through XMB? How does that work? Never knew about it before, and I didn't like the PS3 laying down, so I kept it standing vertically like I did with my fat PS3.

When the disc is highlighted on your XMB, press triangle, then select Remove Disc.

I already have a 500 gig PS3 regular slim so no use in upgrading to a super slim. I'll just spend the money on something else.

after playing it for a couple weeks, i have to admit i like it better than the regular slim. the noisy DD is very minimal and isn't nearly as loud as a 360. it's relatively quiet for the majority of the time. although the design is a bit bizarre, the top loader design has kind of grown on me. sure, the plastic cover for the DD should've been a little better, but i'm generally careful with all of my systems/games anyway. i'd recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to a bigger harddrive.

I own an old fatty and the first Slim, I am curious to see how flimsy these models are, since the fan is probably non existent at this point, unless its built in a compressed like fashion.
