I'm having this situation with Kobato right now. I'm up to episode 12 and I don't think it's that great. The adorable cluelessness is cute on 10 year old Sakura but on someone older like Kobato, it's much less cute. Hell, even 10 year old Sakura had more common sense. But I keep watching because I usually like CLAMP's work so it's bound to get better, right? I sure hope so, cause I'm going to keep watching.

So basically name anime you don't like but for some reason you continue to watch or you finished it mine are:

School Days- why!?!?! lol I liked the first 4 episodes I thought i was one of those typical harem anime I was soo wrong but I continued to watch just to see how it ended O.O

Rock Lee Spin Off Series- Yeah I really don't like it but each week I will watch the new episode and pray its the last one. I think the main reason I watch it is because its Naruto related....I guess lol

For me it would have to be Neon Genesis Evangelion. I mean I know people go crazy for it but seriously why is it so special? Not trying to hate but it's supposed to be some deep anime because the characters have psychological issues, the show flashes a biblical cross every now and then plus sprinkle in religious texts, and the 'antagonists' are called angels? I guess it just goes to show each anime is different to each person but it just gets irritating. I'll admit it's a cool anime but the only reason I really kept trying to stay interested is because of all the hype.

I really didn't like the 2nd part of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya for one reason... The 10 episodes or so of the summer vaction loop. I managed to make it through them all but i cannot say I liked it what so ever.

haha I know what you mean on this bro. i could probably never rewatch the Endless Eight ever again. But honestly I feel like those episodes were actually perfect considering the craziness that is The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. I kinda almost liked them being apart of the series now.

Bokura Ga Ita. Sooo painful to watch, it just turned into a boring soap opera. Some of the episodes made me legitimately angry, but I kept watching just because I wanted to review that damn thing and tell people not to watch it. So many people recommend it for those who liked Lovely Complex, but to me these two shows couldn't be more different, other than the fact that they're both shoujo romance.

I completely agree...I dropped after three episodes. I was looking for another Lovely Complex and these two couldn't be more different. it was just so bad...

Haruhi Suzumiya season 2.
Endless 8, never again..never again, wtf were they thinking?
As bored out of my mind as endless 8 made me I feel more sorry for anyone who watched them as they aired and was treated to basically the same episode 8 weeks in a row.

Ok, let's go with it.

Well...

- Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro-Chan - Stupid as hell... But I finished it.
- Death Note
- Elfen Lied - Not bad, but not convinced me.
- Clannad - I don't like it... But finished.
- Hidan no Aria - At the start seemed to be very interesting ... The end simply hopeless!
- Haruhi Suzumiya... - n/c
- Yosuga no Sora - just sh*t.

Up to episode 20 on Kobato now and I don't like it any more than I did at episode 12 But there are only 4 more left so I'll finish it, still hoping the ending will be worth it.

Regarding Neon Genesis Evangelion, the fact people can relate to the characters and their troubles is what makes it special. I wouldn't necessarily call it deep - in fact I call it vague. Vague in the sense that it brushes the surface of serious psychological issues that can be explored in depth because they present it vaguely. It's deep in the sense that it's vague. The Biblical references weren't even meant to be anything, they were put there because at the time it was something new to Japan and for the sole fact that it looked cool on screen. They got turned into something bigger because of fan speculation and interpretation. The Angels and the whole plot is just a place for the real point of the show - the characters. Like I said before, the main focus and the reason it gets so much hype is because the characters are so messed up and are arguably realistic portrayals of actual people in an animated format. Namely their problems, there wasn't something that heavy presented in anime before. Not to mention, the fresh designs of the EVAs in an era of Gundam copies made people turn their heads and if that wasn't enough everything else I mentioned before surely did. The people who hate it are the people who can't understand it or fail to fully comprehend the meanings behind it. If the original series isn't your thing there's always the newer Rebuild of Evangelion films.

About the Endless Eight, I agree in that they were perfect for the show. I liked how the director did that, he put those in there like that for the purpose of annoying, irritating, and angering the audience. I believe there was no better way to do it then that. It makes the reason behind the Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya movie all the more clearer to me. I've rewatched the Melancholy a few times and I never skipped the Endless Eight - I enjoyed them too much, the different ways that each episode stood out to make it different from the other seven. I appreciated the time that went into making them and I still do.
