I was recently asked by a friend how much anime I had seen, so I went on animeDB, went throught the years, and counted.
The number surprised me. I have seen at least 150 anime series,  most, or all of the way through. I only looked in the list from 2012 to 2004, and I very well could have missed some. However my calculations were as accurate as I could make them.
After some math:
150 series
approx 3163 episodes (at 22 minutes per episode)
1160 hours
48.3 days
this does not count shows I gave up on, or rewatched.
So my question to you:
Can you do some counting and tell us what you have seen? I am curious to know if I watch more or less than others! |

I did some rough calculations as well.
Here is my math hah
aproxx 50 series
approx 1583 episodes (22 min an episode as well)
580Hours
24 Days
Doesn't count the 4 or 5 series i know i've watched, or the total of the simulcasts i'm watching
I mainly watch 10 to 15 or so episodes a week, because of my school and work.

Nice! I was counting the total number of episodes in my simulcast watchings, so maybe my number is off a little.
I think I also watch about 10-15 per week. Im watching 12 simulcasts this season :D

Thank god for anime planet.
I've watched 107 series and spent about 1 month, 3 weeks, 4 days, 8 hours, and 39 minutes of my life on anime.
That's kind of sad.

Mhm but im finding it kinda difficult watching shows from 1995+. The show itself might be epic, but the picture quality is questionable.

Way too much work. I actually did this like a year and a half ago, and it took me around an hour to compile a list and compute the time. I think I came up with around 2 1/2 - 3 months, and I've watched quite a bit since then, including Gintama and half of Bleach. More calculation just sounds really tedious, so I'll leave it at that.

I've been watching anime for literally over 30 years now. I own over 400 DVDs from completed anime series, plus about a dozen or so random DVDs from series I don't own in full. I don't tend to buy series until after their run is completed. (The grand total should soon be over 450, due to the Mystery Box deal from earlier.) I haven't started collecting anime on BD yet, but I will eventually.
It's hard to precisely state the number of series I've completely finished, but don't own yet. It's also safe to say that this particular number is in the 250+ range. I'm not the sort of person that lets being legally blind since birth stop me from enjoying anime...or gaming, for that matter. |

i think i've started somewhere around 50 series/films? though i've completed much less than that. i don't know, it's kind of difficult for most series to keep my attention, and i've never been interested in any of the big ones. :/
