Have you ever hunted before or even killed an animal for food?

Can you even stomach the thought of taking an animals life?

If the opportunity presents itself, would you try it?

If possible explain how you would do it.

Ive hunted a whole bunch of animals, never really for the sport but for the food. mostly I hunt because in gutting factories they pop the bladder or crapsack on the cow all the time. mamma didnt raise half-ass child so i like things done right. I still eat beef but i tend to stick to wild game.

Just to get this out of the way. Hunting and loving nature go hand and hand so get that in ya skulls.

I only think hunting is acceptable if your going to eat it and that preparation would be too much hassle for me to do personally, I would need a butler or something.

I did try to kill a rabbit with a bow and arrow once. Failed of course.

I like to fish the odd time though, if that counts.

if you hunt for the food its okay, but if you kill and let the anime there, your a trash and i wish you get shot :P

I've got no problem with hunting provided that you're doing it legally. I've never done it because i've never had any kind of desire to do so. I could if I needed to though, i've killed things before, but I wouldn't get any enjoyment out of it.

You said ANIME not animal, funny but its understandable since were on a anime site. I totaly agree with you. people who do that are called poachers and as you said they are what i consider trash.

I'm pretty sure humans are the only species who actually kill other species off for fun, rather than have an actual need for it. I'm not sad for the other animals or anything, I just think it's literally the dumbest shit ever. I mean there's literally zero point when it gets right down to it. It's dumb.

It's necessary in some parts of the U.S. as a means of controlling animal population that could endanger humans. I'd rather have a dead deer than a dead teacher because the deer jumped in front of his/her car on the way to school.

I'm all for being green, but environmentalist arguments that get really high-brow about how society is too established and we should find other ways of transport that puts animals in less danger is pretty futile and kind of ignorant to the bigger picture of running a country. Sure, don't hunt like crazy just because you love killing animals... wait for the right season so your love of hunting is actually productive for protecting humans.

And eat away. Would be a waste if you didn't prepare some tasty venison for the rest of us

Sorry to burst your bubble, but I think you give animals too much credit on this one... bottlenose dolphins have been shown to kill other animals for fun (http://www.environmentalgraffiti.com/bizarre/news-bottle-nosed-dolphins-only-animal-kills-fun) and orcas play around with their food (while it's still alive) before eating it. I do agree it's stupid and wasteful, but the phenomenon is not limited to humans unfortunately.

As for hunting, I think the best reason to hunt is for food and one should then try as much as possible to use the whole animal. I also believe that there are situations where it is ok to hunt for population control (ex: natural predators like wolves have been driven / killed off by human activity and prey animal populations are just growing too much, too fast and posing a threat to the ecological stability of the area). However, these situations should always be handled carefully and we should try and see about reintroducing the natural predators into the area. Hunting for population control is just a band-aid solution.

Personally, I've never hunted or killed an animal, but it's something I might like to try someday if the opportunity presents itself. Of course, I would never do it just for the fun of it. I have a great respect for the natural world and I love being outside.
