How do they fit 40+ anime episodes or 2 seasons of Dr. House in one DVD-9 disc...?

You Can't......a DVD is only 4.6/4.7 Gigs and 40+ episodes and anime episodes [that are of good quality] are about 150 MB. So burn them on Blu-Ray disks, a double layer disc can hold between 44-56 GB's. So they will be probably enough space for you.

Edit: Sorry, I misread your question, well I really don't know they probably compressed it really small and burned it on a dual layer well DVD-9 disk. Dual-Layed DVD's can hold up to 8 GB's.

they rip the movie instead of having all the other crap with it, ex: commercials/bonuses/extra's. if your talking about regular dvd's, a standerd 4.6g disk can only hold about id say 8 max ish, mabey more if its lower quality. im not an expert on blueray so cant really say anything about that.

Nah... not blue ray (broke-ass and unemployed therefore can't afford) just plain old dual layer dvd... We get a lot of pirated videos from china here in the Philippines and I find it pretty cool that they can compress a lot of videos in one simple dual layer dvd...

to animestudz: yah I'm pretty sure it's the compression plus a lot of tricks...

^ Oh god... tell me when you're in business. I'll be sure to give you a call.

Just kidding.

There are a bunch of compression software out there to help reduce the size of the videos to fit in a DVD. 2 seasons in a DVD is pushing it, though, if you ask me. The usual compression would be able to squeeze in a good 3 movies in a single DVD (a movie being around 1 1/2 hours long)... but you're talking about bearable quality to watch on a television. If it's for viewing on a laptop or personal computer, I think you can manage to compress the files a bit further.

hahaha... most anime i've got is currently available in the sidewalks... I prefer to pirate my own copies though... (better subtitles)

if it's just on a laptop or computer i'll just burn them as is... (.avi, .mkv or mp4) I always have my usb drive with portable apps... many chinese and taiwanese dvd players support avi, divX and Xvid formatting but just to be safe i'll just burn them conventionally...

I'm currently fooling around with dvd shrink

^^Yeah, it's pretty fun due to the actor and the char's dry humor. But I didn't like it when the whole romance came in

Hey guys I think I partially got it... (compressed 5 bruce lee movies to one dual layer dvd image then compress it again to fit a standard dvd) It's not that tricky but the process simply takes too long and eats disk space...

if my theory is correct I'll pull something like this:

1. make 2 dual layer dvd images 8.5gigs and 8.5gigs worth of anime and/or asian drama...
(delete old files when done)

2. compress each to the size of standard dvds... 4.7gigs and 4.7gigs and convert to dvd image files...
(delete old files when done)

3. merge the dvd image files into one dual layer dvd image and burn with software of choice nero or something... end result (10 movies in one dual layer dvd)
(delete old files when done)
