the only flaw i really notice in fairy tail is that the arcs are SO LONG. like the tenroujima arc, that was about 20 episodes. i mean, that's just way too long. but otherwise, i think fairy tail is great.

what flaws do you guys notice about fairy tail?

p.s this is not a forum to put replies like "fairy tail sucks" on.

I think one of the flaws of the show is I can't watch the whole thing here, so I don't bother watching it lol.

I think that the structure of the antagonists is a minor flaw since they are(each individual villain) pretty diverse, but its usually a small organization like:
Oracion Seis
King Faust's Knights
7 Kin of Purgatory
Oracion Seis Reborn
Sabertooth( the team participating int the Grand Magic Games)

I also think that the fight scenes could better.

Fairy Tail is the worst shounen battle manga have ever seen.

Natsu and company will never lose a fight due to either nakama feelings or some gay ass powerup out of nowhere.

There is no tension, there is no drama, there is no moments in the show where we think "Gee I wonder if Fairy Tail can pull this fight off?" because they always will.

It doesnt matter how hyped the villains are, how strong they are, when you face Fairy Tail you shall be reduced to ash due to Hiro Mashima trolling.

People like me who have a problem with Fairy Tail dont have a problem with winning, what we have a problem with, is how they win. It needs to be logical, put some strategy in it, some tactics, but stop with the bullshit of standing up for my friends.

The final straw for me was when Natsu defeated Sting and Rogue in his base form. Wanted to punch my monitor so hard

I strictly watch it for the fanservice now.

Thats right. I want Zirchonis to shoot that beam against Wendy

Fairy Tail's biggest flaw is that is brought back Lisanna, then never did anything important with her afterward.

The power of friendship. Like I get it, ya'll are friends, well more than friends, like a very tight knit family, but the powerups got a bit silly after a while, hm it's overdone and in your face a lot.

The fanservice is overdone. It's nice to have it here and there, but it just got ridiculous!

I really like this show, and though not a flaw, I just wish there was more romance.

Aside from the obvious glorification of the Fairy Tail guild, one reason that I can't stomach is that Fairy Tail is always righteous. No matter what issues their adversaries have, no matter what ideals, no matter what concepts, Natsu and Erza are always right. Their way is always the right way and the enemy must grovel at their holiness. It's an absolute sore to watch these characters.

The biggest flaw....IS THE FUCKING PLOT. Come on, since when did the pacing of the arcs matter so much? Personally, the crappy plot, annoying characters, overused cliches, completely unoriginal and lazy mythology, bad comedy, forgettable villains (element four, oraceon Seis), terrible character development, audience manipulation (Erza's FAKE death scene after Tower of bs), sentimental BS are all bigger flaws in my opinion than the pacing of the arcs.

There is absolutely no investment in this show, I couldn't give two craps if Erza died. In Bleach, it was sad to see Starrk, Barragan, Ulquiorra, or Nnoitra die. In Naruto, some scenes did get to me, and One Piece knows how to bring up genuine and authentic emotion. But Fairy Tail and all of it's characters have no investment, they could all die in a suicide bombing and I wouldn't care.

Fairy Tail has far more important and structural flaws than what most people are posting.

The villains in Fairy Tail are an absolute Joke. The show just pushes out some bad guys who have no personality or memorability, they beat them, moving on. Bleach's Espada had so much style and mystery, The Akatsuki were an interesting group of people, CP9 was a cool assassin organization in One Piece. The villains in Fairy Tail are way to generic and forgettable.

Who cares about Fanservice or lack of blood, etc, Those are minor details that are irrelevant to the more important aspects of story telling. Take the recent arc into consideration, alot of the characters die and then Mashima-sensei cops out by bringing them back to life, I mean....That is just..........

EVERYTHING about this show is flawed. Too much fan service, the lack of plot, the overused "Nakama" power ups, boring characters, and how nobody dies. Every damn fight is soo predictable, natsu and the others get their asses tossed around then they remember their friendly bonds and now they are miraculously strong enough to beat the opponent, like what the hell. I also think it's stupid how all the villains become good after the fight is over. The fights are also weak, the characters never look like they improved at all during the whole show and their attacks are repeated soo much that you would think they were pokemons.

So then, I guess I'll add my 2 cents about Fairy Tail. I've watched plenty of shounen even though I wouldn't really call myself a hardcore shounen fan apart from Yu Yu Hakusho, The Kyoto Arc from Kenshin, One Piece, FMA, and most recently Hajime no Ippo.

The story is pretty average, nothing really stands out about it. The villain shows up and gets defeated through the power of friendship and deus ex machina. Rinse, lather, and repeat. I think the show peaked early on in the Phantom Arc. It took about 20 episodes to get good, stayed pretty alright till after the fighting festival and has since taken a rather impressive nose dive in writing quality.

Characters are shounen stereotypes, they don't develop at all either unfortunately. It would really help if they could come up with an interesting villain. The shows I do like have some of the coolest villains I've seen in the many anime series that I've watched. Still, I don't really dislike any of them. I still find myself rooting for them in the cheesy climax of the fights for reasons I'll in a minute.

Animation is pretty decent for the most part, A1 pictures really does make nice looking shows (SAO, Magi, AnoHana, OreImo). Apart from Natsu's design, which I really freaking love for some reason, it's not too special. The fights look pretty alright as well

Music is hands down the best part of it. I've been fond of Celtic music and Rock/Metal since I was younger, so combine the two and it's just glorious. One of my favorite soundtracks in all of anime. This is the reason why I can still root for the characters when it's being cheesy, the music is exciting enough to get me pumped.

As for how much I like the series, I think it's fine at best. Enjoyable due to the music and animation which can help me stomach the poor plot and characters. I think it's pleasant, something I would watch if I was bored with nothing else to watch. I'll probably be keeping up with the manga because I love Mashima's art style but his story for this is very lackluster, but if I heard correctly he wanted to make a story "full of fun" and that wasn't about the story but the bond between the characters, which is exactly what he gave us.

I feel like Mashima should just do hentai, I mean Fairy Tail can't go 5 pages without fanservice, and seeing as how it has no plot, he should just end the series with a bunch of books of the characters having sex with eachother. I mean, we all know that's what he really wants
