What Anime has Caused You to want to Watch Anime More?
|
FullMetal Alchemist got me started and got me to seek out anime.
I started watching Naruto about a year ago when it was on Netflix. I had always dismissed it as a kids show, but I tried it and I quickly got addicted. Once I finished part 1 I had to join crunchyroll to get Shippuden and while I've been here I've immersed myself in more. |

I watched the first serie of naruto then i found bleach and code geass in toonami but code geass stopped airing then i looked online and found crunchyroll finished the rest of the episodes on crunchyroll even though i had to use another website for the second season. Then i saw some really good anime here like the world god only knows and it just got me interested in watching more anime.

Well, I went to First Night in Boston one year and wandered into the anime venue, and watched a few things while there. Although I saw several episodes of this and that, the only one that I remember is Jubei-Chan, and that's because I liked it enough to write it down and then start renting on Netflix, and buying a copy of one volume that was missing from Netflix. It totally cracked me up, and that is quite a feat.
That didn't plummet me into a sea of anime, but I started toe dipping. An online acquaintance mentioned Hikaro no go in a way that made it sound interesting--again to the Netflix rental and the buying of a missing volume, and then seeking out scanlations of the manga since the anime kind of ended in the middle of things. At some point (before or after that, I don't remember) a friend recommended Ghost in the Shell and burned copies from DVR for me to watch. I was hooked on that show, then he fed me Paranoia Agent, and wow! Still didn't start making anime regular viewing fare though. That started about a year and a half ago when I clicked on the Crunchyroll ad on my Roku screen. A couple of months later I became a premium member. Since then I've sampled a lot of things on CR and elsewhere, marathoned series long and short, and enjoyed quite a few shows through all their episodes while simulcast or older shows at a more leisurely pace. I now expect anime viewing to be a fairly regular part of what I watch, even if it doesn't stay as dominant as it currently is. |

Back when I was in grade school and Comcast was Time Warner (when everything made sense...) they had several different anime titles since there wasnt a licensing controversy even heard of. But yea those two were definitely first anime titles. Strawberry Panic in middle school was the first I watched in anime lust though...then School Days...then Clannad....then it all snowballed out of control when I got to CR a year ago.( ◠‿◠) |

But yea those two were definitely first anime titles. This is a little embarrassing for me, but Mai HIME was one of the first anime I liked, at it was really an outlier at the time - I hated most other anime titles. And at first, I thought it was crazy dumb, but I kept watching it - as if compelled on some irrational or subconscious level, almost like a 16 year old Meursault. It was worth it, even if it didn't make me like or even respect anime for another four years. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Those scenes with Natsuki and Shizuru in the final few episodes... I was bawling like a baby muttering, "Love is real!" And I mean BAWLING torrential tears! That shiz moved me more than I ever thought a non-Totoro cartoon would. |

I thought it would be late in 2013? They said they were releasing 3.0 and 4.0 in close proximity of each other |

They said they were releasing 3.0 and 4.0 in close proximity of each other They were going to release them back to back at the same time but that obviously didn't happen. It probably will be late 2013 or early 2014 when 4.0 is released. I was going by the time it took between the previous releases, each were 2-3 years apart. |
