I watched anime when i was younger, well then i thought it was cartoons not anime, two years ago i believe, i was browsing Netflix and stumbled upon an animated movie. The movie was Howl's Moving Castle. I loved the movie and it made me think of the shows i used to watch and i wondered if i liked the movie, would i still like the shows i watched? After that I watched Princess Tutu loved that, and after that i just sorta spread out and went looking for other anime. Now i am a huge fan, even more so than when i was younger. I watched a lot before this site, but under Crunchyroll i have blossomed. Other first anime for me were Naruto, Strongest Disciple Kenichi, and Fruits Basket.

When I realized that all anime weren't the stereotypical fanservice or heavily moe shows.

Well the first anime I ever watched was Casshern Sins and it started my love of anime.
Additionally, over winter break, shows like Kids on the Slope and Katanagatari really drove me to watch more anime because they left me wanting to see a great, fleshed out romance. Unfortunately it seems most anime ends right when the romance starts or goes nowhere with it...

DBZ because well I love it and because I watched it with my dad when I was little and a year ago I decided to re watch it and BOOM suddenly I found out what anime was and well when I finished all the series I felt kinda like empty..? idk i feel like that whenever I finish a really long series but yeah and so I looked for another anime that could fill it and and well yeah that lead me to watch more anime

I've been watching anime(before I knew what anime was xD) way before the ones I'm about to name.

Cowboy Bebop, Inuyasha, Yu Yu Hakusho and FLCL
Hearing the music, seeing those art styles, with the fun characters just got me hooked. Especially Cowboy Bebop. CB still has a special place in my heart and is number 1 on my favs.

After these shows I started to REALLY seek it out more and find out more.

Soooo about sometime during 2000-2003 I became a serious fan of anime.

Been watching since I was a kiddo ^^

Azumanga Daioh since it reminded me that anime doesn't have to be mainstream shounen titles with so many filler episodes, kid's shows that are probably made for advertising toys, or smut. I was into anime before that when I was in elementary school because of my brother watching stuff like Trigun and GTO, but after anime stopped airing on TV and my brother lost interest I forgot about it. I started watching again during highschool after I met some friends who encouraged me to watch it.

My bride is a mermaid xD!! It was the first time I saw an anime beside the usual Pokemon, digimon, dragon ball z.. etc. Even though I haven't really seen all of those.. My bride is a Mermaid was definitely the anime that made me wanna watch more, but it was mostly only harem series in the first few months xD Then I started to realize that there are epic series out there like... Death Note, Code Geass etc.
Now I've grown apart from most harem series and am now trying to find the best series with great plots
The only sad thing that has come out of me starting to watch so many series is that: I've become more of a critique and that I really hate -.- Somehow I have installed an autamatic analyzer inside of my head, so each time I watch a new series, my brain tries to find flaws instead of enjoying the series That's just sad for me :L
