I have been watching anime for nearly my entire life. But for some reason, I stopped around January of last year. I only kept up with Bleach and Naruto's manga. I'm not sure why I stopped to be honest. I remember having watched Darker than Black for the thirtieth time, then I hadn't watched since. I suppose i was just preoccupied with other hobbies or something. I'm still not quite sure why I had stopped watching anime.

So back in October of last year, a friend of mine introduced me to Madoka. I was for some reason taking a condescending attitude towards him and Madoka; it all seemed like I've been here before. Cute little girls doing cute stuff for 23 minutes. I wasn't interested. But he pushed on and eventually persuaded me to give it a try. Needless to say, I was blown away. Only since Darker than Black had I been so immersed in the universe of an anime. I was really invested. The characters, the art direction, the plot, it was all near flawless to me. Without spoiling anything, I cried.

After Madoka, I rewatched some old classic, i.e., Clannad, Samurai Champloo, K-on, and a few others. I also got into Fate and some other newer animes. Ever since, I've been actively following anime again. I don't se emyself stopping anytime soon, so long as there's at least one title every season that interests me.

I watched anime as a kid like Pokemon, DIgimon, Inuyasha, Dragonball/Z/GT, and Sailor moon. The animes that really made me want to watch more were Inuyasha, Naruto, Death Note, and Dragonball/Z/GT. They all have good storylines, life lessons, and memorable scenes that made me the person I am today (that sounded cheesy ) This may sound stupid to some of you but before I got back into anime in grade 5 I was a miserable, gloomy mess that had terrible friends. I guess you could say that anime was a place where not every single perosn you meet will stab you in the back and what it means to really be a kind, strong, human being. I think thats what I really learned from anime all together and that its ok to be weird, even if not everybody accepts it .
There I go going off topic again

Trigun was my first anime, and it was a great place to start. After that came Cowboy Bebop, and after that I was a lost cause. I'm really shocked by the amount of anime fans that haven't seen those two, but I guess that just shows I'm getting old now.

As a kid, Sailor Moon, Wolf's Rain, Witch Hunter Robin, Outlaw Star, and Gundam Wing kicked off my love for anime. I stopped watching for maybe two years [between 17 - 19] and then caught myself watching episodes of Bleach [mind you, usually in a drunken stupor >_>] After that, I quit partying, moved back in with my mom, and watched all anime that caught my interest. It was almost like a life saver! =D

My very first ones made me an addict to anime. It was Katzenauge(catseye or smth? 3 female thiefs in tight suits), Mila and Kickers. After that Dragonball just made the addiction complete.

Edit: OHHHHH and of course Sailormoon and some other minor animes of such kind+ Detective Conan some time later ( WHO TOOK SHINICHI AS HIS NAME FOR THE FORUM????????)

FLCL. It made me think "wow this is what anime can offer?" I need to watch more of this stuff. Plus it seems to be a highly referential show, so it feels like the more anime I watch the more I will get out of it on future viewings.
