I was wondering about your comment of not getting comments. Well from what I can tell You have a very nice art piece here though.... it's too dark. I mean the photo: it's hard to see anything. It's sad since like I said: you're surely good competition for me but you need to scan it before 3rd to ensure higher chances ^^

Still I admit... it'll be hard to win for anyone. There is a bunch of nice entries XD

Hey guys this is my submission~! Before saying anything, I'd like to say that even though I did base my characters from a lot of myself, she is most definitely not me.


So I saw episode 7 (IT WAS AWESOME! ALIBABA~!) and got inspiration from these two lame dudes:


I thought of a "what if" their costumes belonged to a culture/tradition? I decided to infuse a bit of my culture and mix it in with that idea in the djinn and then base my character off that. so here she is:

Background:My character's name is Dazia Maghreb (read as dayjeea muhreb). And she's a "traded" harlot (aka prostitute), around 18-20 years old in Balbadd. In actuality she is a "spy" gathering info on nobles from another country (the country she was traded from). I won't give spoilers but those who read the manga should know what country that emblem on her sash is ;). (on the before pic)

She's a bit ornate for her normal outfit and the fullbody djinn equip but eh.

Djinn and Attacks: Her Djinn's name is Durga, (based from a balinese goddess) Since the role of the eroti- uhh I-I mean, naughty female djinn was taken by Paimon, I wanted her djinn to be a majestic and honorable one ^_^ first time drawing muscles on women though lol (note: I know the gods are based on the Ars Goetia but I was basing mine on a different platform (?) Her djinn uses Life Magic, aka making plants, etc. Dazia focuses more on healing, poison, gathering info, traps and other spy-like stuff though.

Her summoning spell:


Weapon: Her weapon is a mace/spear combo. She's more proficient with the mace though (which probably means she's a brutal person capable of bludgening enemies to death ). Before the Djinn Weapon Equip, the mace/spear is a toy (a sort of percussion instrument, which she now uses for dancing accompaniment) given to her from her brother before he left for the military when she was 10.
In her equip pic, she's seen with a rukh because she can see them. She has slightly higher magoi than average humans but not high enough to be a "magician" like Grandma Baba.
She also carries a dagger just in case.

Personality: She is always smiling and cheerful, however, because of the way she was raised she is actually very cunning, sly and violent. (note: I don't mean like a double personality, just very innocently cheerfully violent) She's always slow (graceful ??) and thinks things through but never fails her tasks.


That was a really long description but I always get carried away making characters =w= ahahaha....

is it just me or that i find the female character drawn in this competition really really sexy in some way

I guess it's prbbly bus the theme of Magi is Arabian Nights, so it's all rly exposed (?)

It's really, really, really nice tendency for art competition ^^!

Magi is like 'Romance of 3 Kingoms' mixed with 'One Thousand and One Nights' so we have here well fine refined ladies of the east as well (at least the one given us as in anime King Candidate example)

I really love how detailed those designs are. It would be a waste if girls wearing all those majestic clothes weren't sexy XD

I thought it would be fun to make a child-like Djinn/Genie :D
I also made the weapon (when not in use) look like one of those Kendama toys to make them even more child-like XP
