Mold and maggots. My eyes scream when I see them. I also don't look in the toilet after I take a no. 2 out of the fear of seeing some type of worm. It's been that way since I "saved" a puppy I found when I was about 12 (needless to say the puppy was back out on the streets when the long skinny turd started moving on my basement floor).

And now I must shiver

I guess you could say I'm afraid of spiders/arachnids. Personally, I consider it more of an understanding between them and I: they don't come near me, I don't come near them.

Any creepy, crawly thing scares me pretty much. I think it has to do with their potential to harm me, and just the feel of their spindly legs. The sensation is NOT pleasant at all.

I don't like standing near unguarded edges. I consider such an action to be opening the door to an accidental fatality. I don't believe in making myself vulnerable like that, so, yes, edges make me nervous.

I don't like propping my feet up on something without having support under my knees as well. I just keep envisioning something randomly dropping through the roof and hitting me legs directly on the knees, snapping them backwards and causing me lots of pain. Refer to the vulnerable theory I mentioned earlier.

I will NEVER swim in any body of water that has living creatures in it. Too many movies about large sea creatures (or small in the case of Piranha 3D) wreaking havoc on harbor towns and people at sea.

I take scary movies seriously because the basic premise of all horror is that something happens that the protagonists are not prepared for. I take them as learning opportunities, so that if I were ever faced with the same scenario, I wouldn't die as quickly or hopefully as painfully/slowly/etc. I'm all about making my death quick and painless.

Hmmm

Deep and/or murky water, ESPECIALLY if I'm supposed to get into it and move around and attract the attention of whatever might be down there. Also, I'm a poor swimmer. I can stay afloat and move, but my energy usage is very inefficient and I get tired fast. I won't drown in a pool but I'd rather keep my feet on land.

A slow and painful death by live consumption. Fungi, parasites, microorganisms that eat you alive. Enough said.

Broken bones. I guess it's not an unreasonable thing to be scared of. Seeing someone's shinbone snapped in 3 pieces and jutting out of their legs like white sticks while their flesh hangs limply like a movie prop is more than enough for you to hope it never happens to you. Fortunately, I've never fractured or broken anything, I think.

Open areas with many people on all sides. I prefer staying near walls and corners. Something about being out in the open and there being people who can see you when you aren't aware of them isn't pleasing to me. I'm okay with open areas if everyone is readily visible and there aren't many people, though. I have a friend who has a similar fear, though it's not actually just a fear but a phobia. She can't stand in open places by herself. She can't stand in the middle of my empty driveway by herself. If I don't stand near her, she freaks out. Someone has to be with her for her to stand in the open. It's weird.

Complete and utter embarrassment. I'm not talking about the oh-I-was-wrong embarrassment or the oh-I-farted-and-someone-heard-me embarrassment. I'm talking about the someone-knows-every-detail-about-my-life-and-my-thoughts kind of embarrassment. Granted, there is not one particular moment or thought I'm particularly and hugely embarrassed about, but having everything revealed all at once....that will never happen, but still.

Not the darkness but what is in the dark
Hearing noises and creaks in the house when I'm all alone.
Spiders
Ghost movies, I just can't watch them. Gore and blood I'm alright with.
Being in open spaces with people everywhere. I don't like being surrounded by people.

Pigs. Or at least pig squeals. I hate walking around at night, from a friends place and stuff like that, and walk by a pig farm. Hearing the pigs squeal scares the living hell out of me. Luckily the pigs aren't there any more, but i still remember it. The horror.
