mebbe because anime plots are so similar? i kid i kid :P

i can say i remember a few really well, and they r the ones i have DVDs of, which i've seen more than once..

FLCL, Video Girl Ai, Kare Kano being my favs of all time ^_^

Also, ones I've seen recently (like within a year) i can usually remember the plot for.. so stuff like hanasaku iroha, kids on the slope, hunter x hunter (but only b/c i also read the manga)..

mega animes i usually forget, like bleach, gintama, naruto... but that means i can get like halfway into an ep before i realize i've seen it before >_>

So many suffer the cookie cutter pattern. You end up sifting through a batch of shows which end up displaying a total lack of originality.

I hate it when an anime series starts out really awesome, but fades away quickly after that, and leads to a lackluster conclusion.

The longest running series contain way too much filler and episodes having little or nothing to do with the primary story line, but it's so easy to skip those and remain on track for the most part, but any show which has to go on for hundreds of episodes wears very thinly. Worse still for reading relatively "less interesting" manga which have dozens of tankobon published. No one is guaranteed a satisfactory experience.

When in doubt, drop the show, I say. Big names and mass volumes of popularity =/= good entertainment.

It's funny. Show me a screenie from an anime I've seen (which is many of them) and I could probably tell you all about it. I might do okay for general theme and minor details on anime I haven't seen but have been extensively promo'd and Motivational'ed

But a few months back, I tried to tell someone about all the really fun and worthwile anime I'd seen in the past two years what with crunchyroll and some anime purchases...

...And I drew a complete blank. not one title, not one image. I had to rewind back four years.

(though to be fair the 'not one title' excludes my two favourites from the previous year. but I watched a lot more than two anime)

I always remember my first animes FLCL,Gundham Suit,Sailor Moon,Gurren Lagann,Appleseed,Full Metal Panic,School Rumble,Last Exile,Solty Rei Ghost In the Shell.Cowboy Bebop and the original Evangelion.and to my delight just found all 3 seasons of You're Under Arrest on TAN.There is a few I forgot but would remember if the name or pic came up.Now because I am watching more anime it gets a little more complicated to remember.I dont forget good ones though.I excluded DBZ,Pokemon,Bleach, Naruto because I did watch when they were first on.But now dont follow.

I will remember only the anime that made a very strong impression on me or my favorites

Like years ago Death NOte , Ghost in the Shell, Nastume Yuujincho, MUshishi, samurai 7 .Samurai Champloo. Bleach of course and Inuyasha lol.The first FMA, Fruits Basket and Chobits ha ha ha.Kyou Kara Maoh, Full Metal Panic ...Trigun, 12 KIngdom, Phantom

Then 2 years would be Hetalia lol, Hakouki series, Nurarhiyon no mago . Vampire Knight. and others like Durarara

From last year would be Blue Exorcist althought the anime killed the show, Ano Hana, KImi ni TOdoke, Beelzebub, TIger and Bunny, Sket Dan, Fate Zero, Kimi to Boku, Area no Kishi even though this one failed in the long run. Oh yeah High School of the Dead.

And especially when I cosplay for the anime I wil remember it more ha ha ha.
And when I watch the anime in english dub too , i will remember it easily.

But I dont remember every single detail but only the highlights and memorable scenes.

So other than that , it will take me time and help to remember what it was lol

Well, I can't usually remember if I've seen an anime. I put an anime in my queue just yesterday and then realized I had already started watching it and didn't like it. It doesn't happen with American shows or dubbed animes. Sometimes I'll get a few episodes in and will be like Oh yeah! I've seen this! I don't think if asked I'd be able to rattle off the names of all the animes I've seen. I'll usually have to google a character's name to find out what it was. lol Anyways, I blame subtitles or my age.

Sometimes I end up having to re-watch a couple episodes or so. :c

But that only happens if I take a long break from a certain anime.

If I marathon an anime it doesn't soak it as well. I can't directly recall anime very well but if I see parts It reminds me oh this happens after that. On rare occasions I will recall a scene but forgot what anime it is from. Its much easier for me to recall a scene rather than a plot point. Some anime I have no memory of even watching it.... Some time I even wonder if I really did watch that show.... or just saw a bunch of clips lol. Like negima I don't rember shit about negima, same with shuffle, I don't remember the names or anything. Even the somewhat recent Dusk Maiden of Amnesia, I could of sworn I finished that show but according to my list I haven't lol. I remember some main things about it but very little, the more I think of it the more it comes back to me. Usually just certain scenes stick in my head more than the whole plot.

Then again some series like Umineko... I remember all the names of the really huge cast. I guess it just boils down to how much you talk about the show or read stuff about the show. I was very active in the umineko club on mal throughout the years, which helped me to remember the names and stuff.

I'm kind of one the weird side.

I can remember almost page for page of 1k + page long manga, just about almost all the anime I ever watched. To the point where I can re-watch them in my head.

I remember with clarity anime I have watched 10+ years ago.

Just don't ask me: Names, dates, places, or read.
I cannot for the life of me remember these specific details.
Like I can see the text, read it in my mind, understand it. But it won't get put into spoken form. No clue why either.

What I can tell you is what happens. If somebody describes to me what happens, I can narrow it down and finish their explanation
With any luck, I MIGHT .remember the name. Though it is rare.

At one point, I was managing a 300+ webcomic list, and after my browser went kapoot after me accidentally deleting the stored info on my external HDD, I lost it all. SO far, I have managed to recover over 270 of them. The other ones are more obscure and hard to find (low traffic comics)

Oh, and this ability extends past from movies, anime, webcomic, and the like. If I see something done once step by step. I can recall it years later. Books that are well written and flow well I can remember no problem, but those that suck like crap, I will only remember getting frustrated and curing the author.

Does this make me an obsessed person?

Sometimes it takes me a little to recall events... but then when I start thinking about it I get a waterfall of story line and characters. At which point I tend to start to really miss the show. Haha.

I have watched a lot of anime over the years, and I do not generally have a harder time remembering the details of an anime show than I do any other form of non-interactive entertainment. The same basic rules apply in all cases; Did I enjoy it? If so, given enough time, I would certainly remember some significant details about it. The same can unfortunately also be said of the opposite, although it usually requires the sensation to be slightly more intense; Did I hate it?

Yeah I can remember the vague basic plot points well enough
Now if this is like a 50+ ep anime show, then I won't really be able to remember what happens in each ep
My limit is remembering around 20 eps or so
