I've kind of done it. I met up with a really beautiful girl in real life who I first interacted here in CR. We just hung out. We watched a movie, had dinner, and has some coffee. It was somewhat fun.

Depends on what you want to happen, or what you expect to get from it. I've done it multiple times, but as someone said, you need the physical component of it. Once you've experienced it, you really can't go without it.

Online relationships are hard. Long distance relationships are REALLY hard. I dated someone long distance for 2.5 years. Met her twice a month. 400 miles of driving. Those years I put an extra 7k miles of driving just to see her. Nowadays, I wouldn't meddle with it and would think twice.

well actually, it depends. if it was just that they were the opposite gender, nothing else different, the i would likely still be in the relationship. but if their age was some 20 years apart from mine or something, the option above is plausible.

Not really enough info about how they lied.Were they just out and out string along lies-white lies-lies of omission?Was it a lie because they didn't turn ou to be who you percieved them to be?After a year of pouring out my heart and soul to someone online I would be really pissed if after that time we couln't be truthful with each other even on a friendship level. If I was blatantly lied to I'd feel hurt, get over it and chalk it up to experience.Being lied to face to face and eye to eye hurts worse,and you will be lied to (even if you don't know it) and hurt many times over the course of your life.Not all women/people are liars,but the net is a pretty good place to find a bunch.Just don't close yourself off to everyone and future possiblities because of it.I personally have only known of 1 internet romance that ever worked out-but at least that's one!

Last year I was playing a mmo and in our clan's teamspeak channel people used to flirt all the time. Once someone tried to meet irl but it ended really bad, they had a fight and later both of them left the game rofl. The other clan mates told me they had a "lively" conversation on TS before leaving.. I wish I could be online that day!! xD

Also, when I was like 13 it happened to me, yep. I was playing another mmo and there was the girl of my dreams.. too bad he was a 19 yo trap and I found it by chance. It felt so retarded, at least I didn't send him my photos or address. Back then I really thought that female players in mmo were female irl too. It lasted almost 2 weeks, I guess he was having a lot of fun.

You are in a difficult position, I know little of your circumstances or about your or hers feelings, or who came up with the idea of meeting one another. But consider yourself lucky, you got a chance to REDISCOVER something you already discovered. You have the opportunity to discover new things about a person you like and hopefully those things will make you like her even more. Try to make the best out of it and have fun, after all, she is probably the same person who you began liking in the first place.

The last and biggest issue, you have to find a way to deal with the dreaded "Can I trust her after what she did?" problem. This is a problem INSIDE OF YOU and you will have to deal with it or it will destroy you from inside.
