Well since I always wear cargo pants it really doesn't effect me at all, there's still plenty of room in my pockets.

The reason the phones are getting to that size 5-5.5" are because of overall demand for multimedia use. Movies, Tv, Games, Social networking. If you have a smartphone you use it for those, If you want just a phone with text you go elsewhere. Also they are not just smartphones anymore they are being called Phablets due to being More powerful in the hardware catagory then any tablet out and still having the full ability to be used as a phone. Also for people saying its to big for their hands, The note and note 2 are both 2 handed devices and come with a stylus + on screen controls that work with both left handed or right handed peeps to allow use of the side of the screen vs the bottom like most. Either way the galaxy note 2 will be mine in a few days once verizon releases it.

Not so smart, are they?

People will buy anything to appear more advance than they really are. You then only meet the status quo. The average.

Don't like big and clunky phones. If it can't fit in my hand (and i have small hands), it's a no-go.

It seems like big is the new thing for smart phones, and being small and compact is the next big thing for tablets.

iPhone 10 will be the size of an ipad
and the 8th gen. ipad will be the size of an iphone5.

I have iphone5,Galaxy s3. I don't think they're big. Normally a mens hand size can hold it without problem. Bigger screen=higher res=more pixel=better quality=looks nicer. Only thing that sucks is the video card that can't keep up with the screen res. At times like playing a game with good graphics will actually start to have lag.

Just got my phone and it's substantially bigger than my old phone. (4.7 as compared to 4.0) But it's pretty much the norm now for high-end smartphones and I'll get used to it before I know it.

If you live in bedstuy (like me) and you have a huge phone or a touch screen you may get stalked and maybe get robbed.

No as long as they can fit in my pocket their fine. I have a motorola triumph and just love the idea of no real buttons, makes it so flexible.
