I only read the first post(including the long spoiler section), but SAO's plot is one of the best as far as anime goes. I understand you being disappointed that the first arc was so short( I agree with you, they could have easily extended it.), but I don't think the second arc is all that bad. Its going to take some time to build up the suspense since this is indeed a new arc, but I think you might come to enjoy it more if you get over the fact that the first arc is over with and the second arc, while not exactly like the first, still has its good points.

To whoever wrote the long spoiler section of the OP: You may not like where it is headed, but some of the things you try to pass of as fact are just misguided opinions. Open your mind a little and you might actually like where it is headed.

Not to come off as super aggressive, but please do tell me what was just misguided opinions. I'm honestly curious about it. SAO's plot isn't one of the best. I can agree that the story itself is good, but the plot is not.

I'm not hating on everything in SAO, I'm just hating on the bad things.

For example (AND THIS IS A SPOILER FOR EP 22!)

So please, instead of saying you can prove me wrong - actually prove me wrong.

So far only one user has proved me wrong, and that was on my usage of Deus Ex Machina
(bless her, FallenYmir).

Oh, and pointing out that I remembered wrong about how much Kirito/Suguha knew about the cousin thing.

I was an idiot enough to click on that spoiler XD My fault. Damn I haven't even watched episode 22 yet!

I really enjoyed SAO, Up until Asuna became some kind of Sexual-Prisoner.

It's gotten absolutely TERRIBLE. I so badly want to stop watching it, but at the same time I must continue due to curiosity and the fact that I've already spent my time watching the rest of the show. The show was amazing at first, but then the Kirito/Asuna thing came up and the action was practically gone from the show. I still liked it, though. But they should have ended the show at episode 14. If they stopped it there, I would have loved the ending. But no. Suddenly Kirito's sister/cousin is in love with him and he no longer even plays SAO. It's become majorly cheesy, and I am sorry, but I DESPISE incest. Any HINT of incest absolutely disgusts me. I feel uncomfortable watching the show, but I must continue it. It's watchable, but barely. I hope it somehow gets better.

Well I definitely think the series is overhyped, but I do not think it's garbage.

Downs:
Kirito has very little development for a main character.
Lack of development for other characters as well.
Part 1 skipped through SAO too quickly. I felt like I was missing some episodes sometimes.
Sugu's love for Kirito.....kinda gross.

Ups:
Great animation
Amazing action scenes
Although an overdone concept, executed very well

I actually prefer the ALO part to the original. Sure, the suspense is gone for the most part, but I prefer having a plot that is steadily progressed throughout. I do not think this show deserves all the hype it's getting, but I am enjoying it and plan to watch till the end.

*Spoilers*

That last episode was complete and utter bullshit. Most of the guardians stood there while some attacked head on but what happened to the archer guardians that we saw in episode 22? If the guardians in the background started attacking ranged as they did in episode 22 then Kirito and the others would've been f*cked, but nope I guess there was a glitch in the system that made those guardians useless. Also, why could Yui all the sudden use the System Admin access code? Didn't she say that it could not be used in game and required console? WTF!

/End rant.

Oh rubbish!

I will agree on the first 14 episodes, they were awesome!

But for the next arch, I think the plot is fine!

Although, I find the sister (or cousin, whatever she is) character a bit annoying.

In other words, I can't wait for when she sees Kirito back with Asuna!

*Arc

Learn to spell, you're older than me.

The plot is not fine. They made it worst sadly.

It's really not a great idea to criticize someone's spelling when you're the one who can't properly write

I love how most of the people on this topic are whining about how horrible it is but at the same time are admitting to the fact that they're still watching it because they wanna know how it ends.

In general, if you wanna know how a series ends, you like it

It's not incest, there are no sexual relations between them.

I don't know about the archer guardians, probable plot hole? idk

Yui couldn't use the card because it required an area where an administrator could use it
the door was locked by an admin, so it can be unlocked by an admin card
it couldn't be used in-game meaning just randomly using it outside in the game's field it wouldn't work, it has to be a place where it can be used is what I'm assuming

imo, its good so far if you don't try to dissect each and every piece of detail in the show, but I guess this is what happens whenever a show gets hyped to the moon, you have the fans and haters division (and the random undecided minority in the middle)
head over heel fans who can't see the flaws (I admit there are certainly some flaws in the plot and how it develops) and the haters who go the lengths to nitpick it to prove that their taste in anime is better
I don't really understand the problem with the Sugu loving Kirito problem though, it was present in the light novels wasn't it? Are people complaining about the original source material now? Then go complain at the light novels
or are people just not liking the incestuous tones it now gives the show? I want a serious reply to this one since it is entirely one sided at the moment and will probably not develop any further

Yes, technically it's not incest, but it's quite related and I still find it creepy.

Don't tell me that I disgust you. Just because I don't have the same opinion as you. That's stupid.

But actually, admittedly, I think I'd really like the show if Kirito's cousin wasn't creeping on em. And if it didn't develop too quickly. Out of nowhere, he was playing some other game and I was caught off guard. But I do still watch the show and have a much higher opinion of it than many others. I was mainly comparing it to how the first 14 episodes were.

They didn't follow the book as much on the second arc. And they took out the entire labrythn which was the best part. Also, they only have 1 episode to make a kick-ass ending the second arc had.

I agree though, his sister also falling in love with him is just stupid. Then the 2 race-leaders are all over him, all it does is cheapen the character.

The worst part is that they downplayed the most significant part in the whole story.

Spoilers from episode 20-23:

Instead they decided to focus on kirito x leafa. They're cousins, but still. There is no logical reason she's "fall" for him.

This is a repeat pattern too, every girl he meets wants his meat

i think the worst part is thta he can log in and out of the game...it has no thrill if he can just die in the game'
