Even here in the states 2nd and on cousins are allowed to marry so obviously not that big a deal, since Kirito showed no signs of pursuing Sugu in that way.some states even allow 1st cousin marriges. I was basically covering my bases by going with something I knew yea, I figured as much. wikipedia has an article about it. I'm pretty sure it was probably linked in another SAO thread somewhere, because people kept whining about the whole "cousin marrige, eww.. it's outside my realm of understanding, so it must be bad" thing. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cousin_marriage there's even a map of what states/countries allow what concerning cousin marriges, and it actually appears at least half of the world allows 1st cousin marriges.... hah. |

I've got many anime that have had incest elements in them and I've loved them just as much as those without. Its just really not high on my list of story elements. As long as it fits into the story I'm fine with it. |

the light novels are more in depth than the anime especially the character development and story progression. Some of the light novel is posted on wikipedia and it isn't translated very well but at least its there. You can search for the light novels on google or bing and you might find the light novels fully translated (with typos and some error in translation) and they are in PDF format and there as of today 11 in total and they are pretty lengthy. Give them a shot, you might like them.

Because if I said "it was trash," people would expect me to elaborate as to why I find the show to be like that. If you revisit the long argumentative posts I've had, you will see that people oppose my beliefs therefore I must defend myself and my reasons. |

I think that SAO is an anime that gives everyone a reason to like it.
Online Video Game Themed: Gamers Fighting: Gamers/Boys in general that like shounen Romance: Girls and more emotional boys Fanservice: The usual pervs (guys that are into pants... loli and things like that) I liked it because of some of the characters, the gaming theme and the fights since i like Shōnen anime and manga. I didn't like ALO. The tentacles, the horny sister/cousin and the boring scenes can't compare with the first arc. |

Since I'm tired of hearing these points:
Kirito is too OP: He ground his rear off to gain levels and solo'd (which in most games I know gives a better experience rate than in parties) dungeons. Just because it wasn't shown doesn't mean it didn't happen, if you pay attention you'd realize he didn't just teleport up floors but fought his way up, gaining gold and levels as he did so. He has no out of proportion skill as he mostly uses speed and slashes with his dual-wielding which is a skill anyone can get if they meet the requirements. ALO arc, the transformation sequence flows in line with the idea of an illusion being so pure and convincing that it makes opponents believe its real. The stats carrying over are in line with say .hack//original game series,.hack//GU series in which lvls, money, stats, affection, etc transferred over so its not that odd of a concept .Incest: Didn't happen by any legal standards. The Sugu crush on Kirito was a background detail. There's plenty of other anime & manga that go down far more incestuous paths. And if anything this would fall under 'personal preference' rather than a 'flaw'. Asuna becoming weak : Anyone that whines about this please do me a favor and go into an MMO, then fight a GM. When you get your rear handed to you without even being able to do a point of damage, then you may kindly stfu. "Oberon" is considered an 'untouchable object' which can't be damaged (unless you have some way to drop this status) so can't be harmed. Besides the above, Asuna has no weapon, maybe doesn't even have any skills (wasn't specified), and may have had all stats locked cause guess what: Sugō is a GM and with that kind of power as an admin. Fanservice: I honestly can't help but laugh my rear off at this. I have seen at least 10-15 more anime/manga that have more fanservice and to a much much higher degree. And this is also in the 'personal preference' category not a 'flaw' as it doesn't have a generalized impact. |

Alfeim Online is the worst of all the MMos in Sword art online.
Gun Gale online is the Best Sword art online is alright but overrated Underworld is also Good . Seriously it would be criminal not to release Gun gale online . Its amazing compared to sword art and Alfeim . Asuna is so bland and uninteresting compared to the Main girl in Gun gale online . My only problem (only for me !) is that Kirito looks like a Girl in Gun gale (he literelly looks like a girl with his long hair !!) |

The anime is an adaptation of a light novel series. so i think that SAO is not disappointing because it was expected to be something like this. I saw all the 25 episodes and it was kind of boring, but is not that bad. If you want something deeper don't expect to get it from a light novel series.

I liked Sword Art Online because of the game itself and the visual effects the anime has. Even though I hate the show, I'm looking forward to the Gun Gale Online arc because that looks like one of the coolest MMO's in the visual novel. |

Especially from R:1 to R:2 because, well, the data was all lost. Please learn about the series in reference before talking about it. If you mean between in the actual games, well, duh. That's the gimmick. You conclude one part of the storyline and continue to another part. The thing with SAO and ALO is: they were two different games. You shouldn't be able to convert data between the two. Fanservice: I honestly can't help but laugh my rear off at this. I'd actually go as far to say the fanservice was the best part of the second arc! SAO suffered because of whoever had genius idea to put the sidestories and main stories in chronological order. It was a terrible move, no matter how you slice it. The way the novels were originally written worked better. The issue with the sidestories being shoehorned into where they SHOULD take place, you get quality-whiplash in both the anime and novels. |
