Click to show or hide  Oh please, tore it apart? All you're doing is over-defending, which some people seem to be entertained by your SAO zealotry, including myself. AHTL, along with several others have had valid points in disliking this over-hyped anime. So, explaining why x-thing isn't actually a flaw or plothole is over-defending? Interesting logic you have there. If anything I'd say its the anti-SAO people that go rabid over any little detail they notice off by even a little bit. Also not too valid as I have answered why each one isn't a point at all and can be, if you're willing to not pounce on it immediately, reasoned out using bits and pieces of info within the show. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide If someone decides not to watch an anime (or TV show, movie or so on), simply from one or two bad reviews, RATHER than reading the plot and giving a few eps a shot for themselves, then that's their own problem. Again people want to spout b.s. and not take responsibility for where it goes I agree that most people should ignore the critics and that they should all just disappear away into their little holes to whine about x-anime that didn't hit perfection. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide Personally, I think this show is EXTREMELY over-hyped. The only good thing it had going for it was music. The romance was flat, the plot was lackluster, it is over all just bland and mediocre at best. There is no way Kirito wasn't a Gary Stu. He fits it to a T. He has no faults or downfalls. He wasn't a complex character in any sense of the word. He was had nothing interesting to him at all. I found his perfection irritating and nothing about him was heroic. Generic heroine, generic protagonist. Over-hyped? maybe but not worth watching? not even close to right. Again what was 'good' or not is your opinion as I found 90% of it to be enjoyable. I've already said why he's not a Gary Stu and tbh I find this to be an idiotic term used by people to describe a character that they don't like. No faults no downfalls? He's a social recluse, has little to no realization of those around him's feelings, and blames himself for other people's mistakes. Complex is debatable and isn't what everyone wants. Again he wasn't perfect and you contradict yourself in that 'heroes' are usually considered 'perfection incarnate'. He never claimed to be a hero. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide But again, these are people opinions, and you sitting around trying to "tear apart" everyone's negative opinions of the show, just makes you look silly Exactly opinions that in most cases are wrong and some are questions thus answering them. If it was a genuine flaw, then there'd be no way to 'tear it apart' in the first place. Being able to tear apart people's over-criticism makes me look like the silly one, sorry think you have that wrong. If anything it points out the over-criticism that SAO has been getting and the general over-critiquing that has been blowing up over the last few years. If I decide not to like something, and have my own gathering on it, it doesn't necessarily make me wrong. It means I have different tastes. Because we have differing opinions, and you seem to think you're always right, you think you're "tearing everything apart", when really you're just defending something you found good. I can do that too with a show I like and you dislike. It's not hard, it's called being a fan of said show and defending it. It doesn't make anyone right or wrong, because at the end of the day, it's a show, and not everyone will hate it or love it. You can't call someone wrong over an opinion on a show. I'm not much of the arguing type or debate type, especially over something so petty. None of the "tearing apart" you have done, has changed my views on the show or made me feel like my opinions on the show are wrong. I think SAO is a show you can watch for some time wasting brainless entertainment, it's not something that wasn't enjoyable in some shape or form. It just wasn't the masterpiece I keep seeing people say it is - and that is my opinion that is neither right nor wrong. Anywho, have a nice day (or night) and good luck with your future anime endeavors ^^ As long as you keep said opinions within your 'gathering' or group I could care less, however when it spills out into public domain I will respond to it. Exactly your taste doesn't match mine or anyone else's so why exactly should SAO be branded a 'brainless' anime by your opinion? You hold it in too high esteem. Make a point that can't be torn apart/explained, aka actual point, and I'll have nothing to tear apart. I'm defending SAO because its being attacked as if its the sole anime that has violated all these issues when its not not to mention that half these so called 'flaws' aren't flaws but just things that irked certain people. Am I always right? No, but I do my research and I'd rather say the positives or neutrals of something than to try and degrade it. I've never called anyone 'wrong' about their opinion of the show just the reasons that they give for why its 'flawed'. This isn't to change your opinion of anything its to give another side to the story. Masterpiece? no. Brainless entertainment? H3ll no, if you don't like it then just shut up and go to something you do like rather than try and degrade it. |

Sigh I was trying to end it on a nice note. How nice of you to tell me to shut up. Classy you are, huh? I assure you its not limited to you but to all so called critics. And when did I ever call myself 'classy'? Brainless entertainment is your 'nice note'? Sigh, I guess I'll repaste it, since you ignore positive it seems: "Anywho, have a nice day (or night) and good luck with your future anime endeavors ^^ " No, that wasn't sarcasm. Funny how you only focus on the negative things people say. I actually don't except here but anyway with that aside I return the have a nice day/night and good luck with your future animes as well. Oh and manga as well, if you read them Thank you sir ^.^ I actually don't read a lot of manga :/ sometimes I wish I read it more. But then I end up finding another anime or something and wander off to watch that instead |

Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide AHTL I like Asuna's parents. Because they are just doing what's best for their daughter! Marrying her off to a man who is twice as old and they don't even know if she approves of it or not! Or if she loves anyone else. After all, family doesn't matter - money does. Oh and a stupid plot. I gotta thank the quoters on this one cause I honestly never noticed but please tell me this is sarcasm. Cause if not then congrats AHTL you've fallen even lower on my respect line than before. |

I liked the anime but i think it's overrated because of all the attention it got. Don't get me wrong, the plot was just ok, the anime ok and it resulted to be a good anime not great but good. I did not like the second part to this anime though him going to save the girl it was verry disappointing.

I had almost the complete oposite opinion then the OP did to be honest.... I liked the first episode, thought the show had great promise, liked the animation/art style/music even liked the main character.. After watching episode 1, I was pumped for the show.. Then the next couple episodes dropped and I watched as the dry formula of what I call "Stand Alone episodes" Ruined my intial hype. Every episode's plot was like "ok lets introduce a character, have lil to no character development, have a issue/crisis and have it resolved right at the end of the episode"... Then the next episode, a shit ton of times passed leaving me feeling outta touch with the story and characters followed with another character to just be used it 1 episode and bam, rinse and repeat till you get to the PK 2 episode arc.... Still thinking the show had potential even after these turn offs, Asuna comes back into the picture.... Tons of character development twists and turns are introduced, along with yui, which was short lived but still good for character progression and story.... At this point i'm back to loving it, their getting ready to get in a big ass battle and then outta of no where your hit with the climax, and all of the sudden the main story is being droped in your face without you thinking it was even close... I mean who thought that would happen there??? I already knew it was a 25 episode show so when this happened at episode 12 or 13 i'm like fuck guess this shows gonna be short lived, and next weeks the ending with them all happy back in the real world... A lil depresed I sit down to watch what I believe is the last episode to a short lived ride.... But no, whats this??? New opening???? Wait did Asuna not get out? This isnt the last episode?? Holy shit??? I was really thrown for a suprise, I watch alot of anime and they all use typical formulas to ending shows, and the way and time in which they drop the main story arc, but this show did that halfway through and broke that dry stale formula... At least in my opionion. Even tho the 2nd arc might not have been as good as the 1st one, I was already content in the manner the story had progessed to this point and was just looking for a happy ending... That being said I think it was a great show, I didnt think the plot was ruined at all, I think they set themselfs apart from what alot of people expected if you havnt read the light novels... And not to mention it easily set itself and leaves itself off for a easy continuation.
All and all the issues I did have a problem with were.. 1)Short use or lil to no character development in episodes 2-10 or so 2)The second arc didnt seem as dangerous or the risk didnt seem as high then the 1st arc where death is death... But with the way they had the potential to work in the whole replacing memories and tormmenting with peoples minds and memories could have been really bad ass and even more crushing if they had utilized that element alil beter... Like wipe his sister or asunas memories or something like that. |

I enjoyed it a lot, but there were some points that could have been better. Like the side stories. There was quite a few side stories considering that it was only 25 episodes. Wish they had focused on clearing boss floors instead of all those stories. Next up is episode 15-25. When it lost the life and death plot, it lost me. Not nearly as exciting as episode 1-14. Still, even with the fillers and episode 15+, SAO was an anime on a higher level than most other animes i would say.
