The video is actually pretty good, a bit long but have some interesting points about lies and our habits.http://youtu.be/nn5k4snG3rA?hd=1

So what do people think of this?
Do you lie more in real world than you lie online and why?

I lie more in the real world. Hmph, the concept of most of humanity's so called "real world" amuses me.

I'm a pretty honest dude offline and online. But, I keep 2 things which I will not disclose..willingly.

1st: address, ss#, and extc.

2nd: My enitre Family, and my legal name (online mostly)

My Reasons: I think it is pretty clear and self explanatory as to why I wish to not wish to disclose this info

I tried to watch that but I got bored. People lie all the time , not really a big shocker to me. I generally try to stay honest and tell the truth. A little white lie every now and then though doesn't hurt

I don't lie very much and I don't lie online at all, my view is what is the point of saying something if it's not true. The only times I lie in the real world is to save people's feelings and save myself from extreme embaressment or trouble but even then I beat myself up if it's the two latter.

I lie less online than I do in real life. I find it infinitely easier to be open and completely honest online.

Why would I lie? I'm far too busy having fun watching my bear-riding monkey gladiators fight in my crystal colosseum.

Lol real world.

Since the video is 18 min. long, I won't watch it. I did read the video description though. I try to not lie as much anymore, whether I'm offline or online. I definitely lie more online (mostly about my name or location though) for security reasons. I'm more honest and sometimes blunt offline and in contact with other individuals.

Too bad, the video is very interesting as it explains that people are more likely to lie in real life or on the phone then online.

If you have to lie, you lack a crucial aspect; honesty. If you want to be anything, you need honesty. You need to not lie to yourself most of all. They say you murder a part of the world with a lie. Well, depends on the sphere of influence the lie has based on the sphere of influence the person telling the lie has. If you want to take the reigns of power in life over yourself, possibly that of others, sure, you may do as you please. Lie your ass off. Go ahead. Who will stop you? Only you can stop you. You ultimately call the shot. However, if you have to have a parcel tongue, eroding the hopes of those you promised some paradise to, and bullshit the people who essentially elevated your position so highly as to have power over lives as significant as your own, then watch the world around you crumble. The world that was very much your responsibility. That thing called your life which harbors your own reputation. So think about how you might reap a good or bad harvest based on what information you throw around.

There are soft lies told in the open everyone can see and deal with, and there are candy-coated lies that break the foundations everyone stands on. It all adds up to the same result; irresponsibility. What do we get from that? Corruption. Complete and total social breakdown.

I watched the first 5 min so I understand more or less what it's about. It's true, I lie like that when I'm playing some mmo, well it happens mostly when I'm really bored/sleepy or I've to go out and I make that kind of excuses "I'm lagging a lot" then Alt+F4 or "damn, I've guests gotta go sry!" and log out. IRL I used to lie a lot when I was going school, mostly to justify the absences (to the teachers/parents) but to my friends I never lied, only to a classmate which was a bastard and backstabber (the funny thing is that he used to be my best friend).

I don't make big lies, like about how awesome I am IRL (I'm not lol) because I had a friend who lied like that to me and not just once but several times and over 4 years, almost every single day. He probably has some mental disorder but I couldn't care less, shit happened. I don't wanna make anyone feel like that, like I felt back then.. so I'd rather leave a blank space than saying a stupid lie.

I lie all the time, in fact, I'm lying right now.
