No, I have more friends now than when I was younger.
However I used to have friends in RL and not online now only online and none in RL.
What a world.

This is exactly how it is for me. I'm 21, and it feels like in RL no one lasted. Online, I have some truly great friends and plenty of them to boot.

For me , as my maturity grows , i started to judge people more than i used to be. When i start judging , i find people flaws and that makes me want to stay away from them. Its a bad habit really.

I think a little anonymity goes a long way to removing prejudice.

i find it harder to make friend and keep the ones you have. most of my old friend have moved away or got married and have kids so they have little to no time for goofing off. me, i have nothing but time to goof off.

It seems the Older I get the less things in common I have with others in my area. I don't drink, I've never liked parties and I enjoy more peaceful surroundings. The one person I cared about betrayed me, so as a result I spend all of my time alone.

90% of my friends are either in my choir, or in another choir that we've worked with. If it weren't for being in a choir, I would have very few friends after high school.

My first thought in seeing this topic was that I wasn't that good at making friends when I was a kid.

I'd say it is harder to make really close friends, like the one or two best friends I had in high school and college. However, I have a larger social circle as an adult that includes people I would consider friends. These friends usually revolve around one of the interests I have. I play in a band and consider the other band members my friends. I ski and have developed friendships with some of the people I ski with. And my wife and I have become friends with another couple we met through a board gaming group. None of these friends are real close, but they are at the level that I know they would help me out if I need it, and likewise I'd go out of my way to help them out if they needed help.

As for close friends, my wife is my one, close adult friend.

I had plenty of friends as a child and no problems making them but as an adult...well...its not quite so easy. I have had a few friends that were close in my adult years but we have drifted apart and now my only close adult friend is my fiancée. I guess it's more normal than I thought though judging by the previous posters.

[Not that I had many friends as a child, but] As I age, I find it easier to meet people but harder to make actual friends.

Definitely harder, more to the fact that i've changed a lot since i was younger and my friends seem to have stayed the same. They slowly drift away and i find it nearly impossible to expand my social circle at the moment.

Online, i could make friends instantly, again, due to the fact that you it's easier to find people with similar interests.

Not For Me because of my personality from when i was younger till now i've always made it easy for people to get along with me ... And i've always been a person that i can easily put myself in your shoes and i'm a leader And people who know me even friends on here that i've made on here will tell you i'm always trying to do the right thing and i'm very supportive i have friends from every age and i try to make it hard for people not to like me lol So my OP Not at all if you're open and try to be approachable and your personality gives off the sense that you might share some interest or none at all with someone you can find some common ground it's genuine and you don't have some hidden messed up agenda hope this helped
