i think a lot has to do with your individual personality, but i know i have a harder time for sure than i did when i was a kid

then again, there are way more factors than just age
i think my biggest struggles with friend-making are the possible identity compromises that come with the social pressure and the fear that comes with the vagueness and variability of any relationships

I'll be honest, I find it slightly easier.
Then again, I was the equivilent of the town lepper at my middle school, and I went to a self study high school.
When I moved on my senor year of high school, the first day at lunch, I looked around to see who I liked and if I could sit next to them. Almost sat next to the hippies when I saw one gloomy goth girl showing off her art, and next to her was a bunch of other nerds of all flavors. I stole a chair from the hippie group's table, pulled over, introduced myself, and that is how I met my friends. Helps when you don't have any reputation but do have an intrest.

As for after school, you gotta find social events where you can find new people. my local anime convention is a good place each year, as well as the library, game shop and comic book shop. Before i started going to game shops to play card games, no one I knew could even come close to beating me in pokemon. 3 years of that, and not only do I got a rival who is always slightly ahead of me, but I've kicked my friend's butts in pokemon so much that they "got gud" and started kicking back.

And if you feel espeically jerkish, bring over a lady friend to a coffee shop with a high female/male ratio for staff, then talk about yaoi. If you see a head raise, that means they know what it is. If they know what it is, then they are obviously interested in the same stuff as you are. It's how I met this nice lass in my favorate coffee shop. (the same trick works for guys, just replace yaoi with yuri. and lady friend with bro)

About having as hard of time as an adult as I did as a kid. I think personality is a bigger factor then age.

Yes. Not really met anyone with the same interests as me. When people do ask me what my interests are and I tell them that I'm into Taekwon Do and Boxing they get weird with me as if I'm going to kill them or something then again I do get on with people at Taekwon do and boxing though... hmmm I guess it's easier to make friends if you're at a club.

I'm in less situations of meeting new people to make friends, but that has more to do with me rather staying home than rubbing elbows. The act of making acquaintances and friends is about the same, though I'm probably choosier about who to spend time with.

It's not necessarily harder per se, but I rarely see new people nowadays since I don't have the conveniences of daily school life to supply myself with a healthy dose of fresh faces in my age bracket.

Yeah. As I've gotten older, I've found less and less time to make new friends
