When I first Saw [url=http://www.crunchyroll.com/erin]Erin, I almost just insta stopped watch because at first the animation was horrible. Thankfully I stuck with my rule, and it was episode 6-7 that sealed the deal for me to keep watching to the end. I put it as my #1 Anime on my profile because it was awesome.

The only anime that I can think of off the top of my head that I couldn't stand the art so much that I had to stop watching was the Count of Monte Cristo. But the animation in that isn't really anime style in the first place.

While some series will have lots of scenery porn, or well choreographed action sequences, and I find those to be a plus...bad art isn't really a minus for me. Story and characters sell a story for me. The rest is just eye candy.

It's fun to look at pretty things, but the content is what makes a show interesting. I've found that even with styles I dislike, I get used to it within the first couple of episodes anyway. As with reality, appearances are easy to ignore if you're interested in the character and personality of the show.

Wish we got to see the final duel between the two at the beginning, but there's always the manga for that.

Some art style is the reason why I dont watch the anime for example Lupin and when the art is too kidsy , I wont watch that either like Inuzama Eleven. But there are those with animation that looks cheap , Ithat discourages me too but I cant remember which one and yes I will miss out if its pretty good, but still I wont enjoy watching decause it will drive me nuts.There was this baseball anime Cross Game that when I first saw it, I couldnt finish it but when my group was watching it and saw the story is really good then I decided to consciously force myself to watch it . Its a very good baseball anime. .

If i don't like the character designs or artwork in general, i usually don't watch it. But there have been exceptions, if the story and soundtrack, and other important things holds it's ground, i usually give it a chance anyways.
