I figure if two girls can be together and no one complains there's nothing wrong with two guys. And stop being insecure about your manhood and just watch it. Long as it has a good plot I'll keep watching.
Granted, I wouldn't go around watching it in front of your friends unless they understand it as well.

Well, at first when I saw yaoi, I was a little shocked o.O I was 12-13 when I first saw something yaoi...Now there's an explanation for the young age:
I really wanted to see Evangelion and I saved up like all my money forever until I bought the complete DVD set (Platinum Edition). So, when episode 24 came on....yea did not expect that. At first I was a little grossed out but I was real young and curiosity got the better of me and I researched the topic..and then I became a fujoshi. I'm not like one of those obnoxious ones that goes on and on about it. I only bring it up if someone else does. I learned over the years, there's a lot of closet fujoshis :D
At least my boyfriend gets me, lol. I don't like just yaoi, I love anime of every genre. I like grew up on anime so I just love it all :)
BTW I had to rewatch Evangelion like 5 more times to actually get it...gosh I was so young >.<

I got embarrassed. Not the "I tripped myself and hit my face on the ground" embarrassed... but the "this is the first time I've seen a naked person" embarrassed sort of way.
Of course I don't feel that way anymore since I'm an adult. It was a once in a lifetime feeling that can never be returned.

In and of itself It has little effect on me. I'd care much more about whether I was invested in the characters and storyline, rather than a strong reaction to their sexual orientation.
Edit: I can't actually remember my first reaction to it though

I think my first exposure to it was through a big, fat, informational book on manga which I read ages ago, I think before I had actually read any manga.
It had a list of genres and a brief definition of each. And I made mental notes of which I probably wanted to avoid ^^;;
I don't remember when/how/where I saw any real stuff. But my first reaction was probably "Eh? Wut?" O_o

I just laughed out loud and felt a little embarassed. It's kinda gross but not really gross. Hahaha, it's complicated but I kinda felt that it's okay since it's an anime so I just leave it just as that. XD But after that one episode I stopped watching that anime. Lol

Cant remember my first yaoi, my friend show me this yaoi book and I was like WHAT IS THIS! I was totally shock. Back then my knowledge on those things were limited. I was raised in a family that doesn't allow it or talk about it, if it happens. I found it to be interesting the yaoi but not the yuri. Since then I read them once in a while but I'm a hopeless romantic that really loves the girl and boy relationship alot more.
