Now, it's been 8 years since the anime premiered, and there's a lot of people wanting to have a second happen. However, it won't. Reasons are because of its limited airing even on AT-X (it aired so late at night that it was almost nothing more than advertisements for it DVDs). However, what's better than continuing it is to have a remake of it. The remake be done a la Hellsing Ultimate, that is, follow all the manga volumes in consistent order (1 episode adapts a whole manga. The blu-ray edition will have an exclusive manga so that should be adapted too), better animation and budget, and no censored material. Now, this could only be done by big name studios. The potential candidates for animating the remake of Elfen Lied are: Madhouse (they did Hellsing Ultimate 5-7), ufotable (check out the animation of the cut-scenes for the PSVita edition of Fate/stay Night. They look awesome), Studio 4c (they did the Berserk movies), Bones (they did FMA Brotherhood), Production IG, Satelight (they did Hellsing Ultimate 1-4), and Manglobe. For the Japanese title, it still would be called Elfen Lied, although as Erufen Rīto: Elf Song (エルフェンリート: ELF SONG, Erufen Rīto: Erufusongu) to differentiate it from the 2004 series.

I don't get what you're saying. Elfen Lied needs a remake. Berserk (a series as violent as elfen lied) got it, FMA go it, and Hellsing got it, so why not elfen lied. There's already a facebook page talking about a remake of Gantz (again, a series as violent as Elfen Lied).

I don't see a reason to not want a remake, it has been a while since I've seen head shot first ep also stupid coffee lady XD

I wouldn't mind a remake, re-do the animations graphic designs and also WIDESCREEN!!!

I'd like to end with don't remake it like berserk movies that is cgi to the death....

Elfen Lied is just great the way it is. No remakes, it will just ruin it.

You mean like FMA: Brotherhood "ruined" Full Metal Alchemist and Hellsing Ultimate "ruined" Hellsing?

Remakes don't automatically make things worse. For one thing, the series didn't follow the manga ending (because the manga hadn't been completed at the time). Are you claiming the manga story was inferior?

I thought that the Elfen Lied anime kind of sucked, and I've always been interested to see the real ending be animated since it actually explains the diclonius (of modern times and ancient) and ties up way more loose ends.

Unlike Full Metal Alchemist, an anime that actually tried to build on the existing story in the manga to create a sensible ending to their series. Elfen Lied just kind of phoned it in.

If they think it will rake in the bu... yen, the way Evangelion, Berserk, FMA and the likes do, then they will remake it. It doesnt matter if its "good the way it is" anime to the production companies is about money first, entertainment second.

Well, i dont mind either way, not gonna watch it as i dont like the story at all :P

But i dont mind remakes, although some remakes are kinda meh -.-' i gotta say that brotherhood was closer to the manga but as with the original version it didnt catch me at all, the manga is 100x better, so imo its just not a manga that shold be animated ^^'

Also Hellsing Ultimate didnt really ruin hellsing, but it didnt really make it any better :S

A remake is a remake, some remakes adds more that they didnt initially, in some animes they've excluded alot of interesting details from the manga like HxH, in others like Hellsing they didnt miss them.

So in the end its pretty individual, although i dont really wanna bother with most remakes i dont think its so bad to make remakes, although i'd rather have remakes of alot of other animes first

Agreed. A remake of Elfen Lied would be clearly better than the original. Concerning the dub, it had a mostly mixed reaction and If funi gets it they could make the dub better.

I'd like to see it, There is nothing wrong with changing something you've already seen and giving you a new perspective.

I dunno. The Anime version was alright. Sure the manga was WAY better, and the only reason I liked the Anime one so much is the DUB cast.
I think it was a fan dub that was awesome. Can't recall. What group was it...Lime? fk it has been a while.

Hand the project over to Bones so they can turn it into a cluster f like Eureka Seven AO.
