Tentacles are in a lot of anime mostly just because the Japanese are sick in the head (and a few other non Japanese people probably like tentacles too sadly), severely so. They make some very good anime, and then they got some seriously twisted fetishes also which is scary. Don't think that will ever stop though so just avoid the messed up tentacle stuff and watch something decent instead.
