I like harem genre but its mostly because I can see a guy being surrounded by differing personalities that would appeal. After all in reality you date people till you find that one and this is how I consider 'harem' types. Saying that a genre sucks is a flawed thinking since its highly subjective. Ultimately either you learn to get over it and enjoy the core story or you don't and lose out on a potentially good story because of your biased-ness.

If you really are 16 then you can't be that experienced of an anime fan and if you were you'd know there are good and crappy shows of almost every genre.

Actually, harem is a genre itself, so it should be "Harem Anime Suck".

I think the male protagonist in harem animes is the only real issue with the genre. The indecisive and/or oblivious male protagonist is just so unrealistic and isn't a character that anyone would aspire to be. I agree that the characters and plot tend to be pulled from a limited number of cliches and frequent viewers of anime will be more inclined to notice this, but this something that is true of any entertainment medium. The best you can do is just search out the handful of unique and/or less mainstream animes that come out each season and watch those to at least add some level of diversity.

Anyway, harem shows just don't seem like you're sort of thing OP. There are a handful of harem animes out there with intricate plot lines and deep characters but generally speaking, they just meant to be dumb fun. Most shonen shows are in the same boat.

i find that the reason harem and echi(btw i don"t care how to spell it) shows exist and not just full on hentai, is so it will seem as somewhat "Clean" that way they will get a larger budget for it, it seems that its only existence is politics

I do understand that point, I really don't get why the writers make the boy so clueless sometimes. I can almost come across as stupid!

I think it's mostly the dull characterization that bugs me about harems, personally, though I tend to be automatically turned off of a series by female fanservice.
An example would be Infinite Stratos. At least three of the girls start off with some semblance of a personality and then ultimately degrade into two very boring emotional states; around the other main girls they're all 'RAAAARR YOU HAG GET AWAY FROM MY MAN' and around the protagonist they're just horny blobs of flesh (though sometimes this is broken up by bouts of Tsundere-ness, whoopee). I managed to make it to around episode nine before watching a bunch of living fetishes flailing around an incredibly boring Gary Stu became too much for me.

Not to say reverse harems are any better. The tired list of archetypes is constantly being recycled for each "new" series/game/what have you. They do, however, seem to go easier on the fanservice.

Look at your anime list
3- Love HIna

both some of the best Harem shows to watch...
"harem Scenes are to generic and repetitive" LOL your favorite shows are Bleach and Naruto how much more generic and repetitive can a show get then those?

OP, I disagreed with you about Sword art online and i disagree about harem anime.

I took the time to actually read your post and you have some points, but hentai anime is not as easy to get as ecchi. it's harder to pay the maker for it too. there are a lot of overused cliches, but the general purpose of having sexually arousing or attractive stuff in them is not bad.

I generally find that type of anime horrid. It has to have another aspect to it that's powerful enough for me to forgive the bad stuff. The impossible "fall down" scenes and the improbable nudity scenes and whatnot. Gets old fast.

I find romantic comedies to be the best in my opinion and I generally don't dislike harem anime. I have a lot of patience for anime, having dredged through (by my MAV account's count) 343 anime so far.

Also

"...their main focus is to show us anything ecchi. Maid scenes. Shower scenes. Loli scenes. All this bullshit."

Loli scenes being bullshit?

Sounds like someone's running a high fever.

^ I definitely do.
