Touya from White Album has sex with or kisses every girl in his harem at least once over the course of the series.

tsunderes are Great!

Have to disagree with you one that one. I find them to complete witches. My main problem is that their overly violent. If they don't like what you said or did and you're their love interest, getting ready for some undeserved pain. The whole "I like you but since I can't tell you this; I'm going to insult you constantly and treat you like crap" is also a HUGE turn-off. I don't really see why anyone would date them, let alone choose them out of much. much, much, much better choices, unless they were a masochist or something. They are interesting characters, but I wouldn't call them great.

Why so much hate on Ecchi/Fan service? If your a guy, and say you don't like boobs, your either lying or gay. (Though gay people probably like them too)

If it's a show, targeting the male crowd what can they do to make it more interesting? Boobs.

Sick of Fan Service? Watch a cute Romance anime, that's what i do..

Are you seriously that naive? People hate on it because it takes the seriousness out of the anime. This should be even obvious to kids. Some animes manage to still pull off a good story line, but most end up as 90% porn.

As long as people buy the Manga/light novels of harems, anime will still be made of them. For myself, I enjoy watching a harems, can't explain why, just do.

Then again, rarely do I find an anime I don't like.

I can see where you're getting at, but you have to remember that that's the point of a harem genre. It's there (mostly) purely for slapstick comedy and idiocy that serves as light entertainment and not anything too engaging.

I honestly like them. They may be a little more shallower and not as in depth (most cases) as other genres but I think it has to do with relatability you have with it. Harems are ballin cause everyone wishes they could have there own!

Whilst I do dislike completely out of the blue, over the top fan service in serious anime I have to say not all harems are crap and its just dumb to claim that. You're using the same style of argument as the people who say 'anime is just cartoons for kids'

This highly depends on your idea of fan service. Not to mention in certain cases its more realistic to have it than not. Say you have two females fighting (which by some people's standards in itself is fan service which it is not) with swords. Is it 'serious' for them to slash and nothing gets shown? No, its not but yet anti-fan service people whine about it. Grow up and watch the story instead of getting on your moral high ground and saying it takes away from the story. I can enjoy Freezing as much as I enjoy Fate/Zero (or any other toned down fan service oriented anime).

Its true in some cases it would make more sense if some clothes got ripped or something, but what im talking about is the full-on hentai style. When its almost solely based on showing breasts and panties, it makes the anime lacking in the serious department. Also regarding "Freezing". I tried to watch it, but because of the incredible amount of fanservice i couldnt really get into it. I enjoy fanservice, but too much is too much. Still people are different, so i dont blame you if you are not bothered by that fact. This is why we have different genres, because we all like and dislike different things.

I'll just reiterate that fan service doesn't reduce the quality of a work unless you really focus on it. I can see panties, breasts, or w/e and still enjoy the story of the anime.

"This is why we have different genres, because we all like and dislike different things."
This is my agitation with anti-fan service people in general as they don't follow/think of the above quote. Pro-fan service people typically don't say anything but the anti-fan service pitch a fit over it and don't realize that they can either a) move on to another genre/series or b) get over it and enjoy the story without whining over what they don't like.

Yes and there we have it. The problem is there when they really focus on it, and thats what many of them do. Anyways im not anti-fan service. Infact i think addding fanservice can make a show a lot better in some cases. Its just when it takes over the story line that its a bother. Oh and yea i agree some people dislike it too much. Im just trying to have an open discussion, converse and share interests.

it wasn't me this time lol

look, there are always good anime and bad anime in every genre
the reason harem anime tend to get crapped on a lot is because we always seem to get ~2-3 of the generic ones every season
people then begin to assume, "oh, all harem must suck then because that's all that we've been seeing and they all have horrible plots, generic characters, lots of unnecessary fanservice, etc"
this just isn't true, yes we seem to have an oversaturation of harem ecchi anime, but no, not all of them "suck", there are always the good and bad ones and its up to you to find them so don't just generalize a whole genre
