Good Smile Company is releasing Ultimate Madoka this month and the anticipation is palpable. I was wondering if anyone has received any emails or has any information about this. I was originally supposed to be released last month but was delayed til December. I received an email from GSC on November 2nd but I have recieved nothing yet from them this month. I'm worried they might delay it again. It would be a good birthday present if they emailed me now or tomorrow because I WANT HER SO BAD!

There's an edit button in the upper right hand corner. I'm not too into figmas and such, but I will say that the Madoka ones look pretty cool.

Amazing what mass produced plastic induces in people.

You can break down anything to it's most basic form and make it sound silly.

Such as so much emotional energy, time, and resources spent on plastic. A microwave can make a PVC figure look interesting. A hardened blob of funny colors, like what an ejection molding machine leaves after several purging sessions.

The respective figure may look interesting, but I personally seen the value of restraint with material objects. A sports car is little more than the the raw materials used to make it, which came from other things. Is it better to have what looks good than nothing at all... or just have what is needed.

However, I would place great value on the original sculptures for PVC figures. The copies tend to get immensely overpriced for something which inevitably gathers dust while being ignored most of the time.

You bring up an interesting notion. You seems to be against materialistic value. Which is absolutely fine in my book. There's isn't much left for me to say, however. Some people love the plastic statues, while you think they're a waste of money, which they are in my opinion. I'd buy them if I were very wealthy, though.

As would I if I had the excess finances. I will say that money shouldn't be hoarded quite so much. It is best used. Though in the event of of a financial crisis, such as what the world is suffering currently, having a rainy day fund is ideal.

The market for these figures seems bent on taking advantage of the consumer. Some of these cost in the range of several hundred dollars. And the worst thing is, some people get addicted to collecting them. It's a major bug to catch, but as I understand it, any form of collecting can be habit forming. If a collector wishes to invest in whatever objects they desire, so be it. The real advantage point is the collector who can make a profit from his collecting so not as to lead his or herself into financial bankruptcy. It is easy for people to lose their ability to refuse purchasing needless items, and make matters worse by getting into snowballing credit card debt or some other issues.

To the PVC figure collectors, know the nature of what it is you are collecting. As I've stated, colorful plastic is just colorful plastic. You may keep a tenuous watch over the arrangement of a collection of these horribly expensive statues, but that doesn't negate the fact that it can't really be a sound investment of time, effort, and money. I will also go to the point of relating an obsession with these toys as being very childish. Not that I can stop you, nor will I try, but the facts remain.

If you are happy with whatever you do, fine. Never forget the price of that joy you found. Not just the currency, but the factor of choices made.

I pre-ordered 2 of these on the day GSC would allow pre-orders via AmiAmi. My Dec 2012 item detail still has her "anticipated" late-Dec 2012. Will she be available then? We'll know in a few weeks, won't we. November 2012 was an expensive month for me...over $700 USD and counting for 8 figurines.

You're better off waiting for the movies to come out on blu-ray/dvd. They will probably be cheaper, and they're considered to be the definitive version of Madoka.
