As the early morning light poured in through the windows, a young man, about 26, ruffled his matted brown hair and sang along in his head to "Electric Forest" by ISeeStars. He was the controversial new hire of the Science and Cultures wing of the Academy Devonry, but for every old, wrinky, uptight jerk who called himself a professor here, Neil Klima knew he had the experience to match. Mexico, Morocco, Norway, Japan, Ireland, Kenya- he'd been everywhere and studied everything. He stuffed his Ipod into his tan cargo pants and scratched his head. Been all across the world but i cant find room A20 in a high school, haha. Hey, this looks like and interesting crowd. I bet this brunette here can tell me where to go..

"Excuse me, miss, can you point me to room A20 please?"

looks over and see a new professor seems like he is lost and yes i know where A20 is right over there ,

"Thank you very much, miss. Im here for my first class, Big Cat Studies 211 in the lab. You and these other people here wouldn't happen to be in my class, now would you?"

"no problem and yes i am"

"Excellent. Im looking forward to this, its my first time teaching and im fresh back from Kenya. I do fear, though, that i must impose upon you to drag all the rest of these heathens to class, seeing as it was supposed to start 5 minutes ago and i STILL have not set up lecture. Thank you again, its much appreciated, and ill see you in class
"

With that, he stole a momentary glance.
Wow. Shes actually kind of pretty Stop it, you perv, just teach your class and be the dignified role model for cryin' out loud..

With that, Klima entered room A20. It was right in the corner of the wing, and the classroom itself was a giant glass dome with no desks or chairs, but rather it was a green house, with ferns, exotic flowers and comfortably shaped boulders arrayed in a very natural way throughout the room. In the center of the dome was a raised formation of rock. Out of each boulder-chair stood a computerized platform with a tablet interface. To top it off, blue morpho butterflies flitted about the dome carefreely and lightened the atmosphere, just like the faint African drumbeats whose mellow and lively sound wafted out of the hanging speakers and throughout the dome. Neil stepped up to his place on the podium and waited silently for his students to appear

"Claus Valca?"

"Here."

"Fam fan fan?"

"and lastly i have a Dio Eraclea. Is he in the house"

"here xD"

"Alright. Welcome all of you to Big Cat Studies 211. We're gonna get started and if the others i called out make it, great, if they don't, oh well, F for the day, right?. Anyways, we're going to begin by going around the room and you're going to tell me what grade you're in, where you're from and what cat in particular you most look forward to analyzing while you're here."

The professor took a look at the motley, eager-yet-shy group and shook his head.

"Well if there are no volunteers, i'll start by introducing myself. I am 26 years old, a double major in Biology and Earth Science from Ohio State University, I've been to several foreign countries, most recently Kenya, and my favorite representative of the family Felidae is Lynx rufus, better known as the Bobcat. Bella, why don't you continue for is, if you would kindly?"

The professor began to sweat a little bit. It's okay, your students only totally blew you off, come on, you can teach this class, think of something to get started... (glances at curriculum book) "Ok then, well, forget that, let's just get started. You can all begin by copying this:

Felidae is the biological family of the cats; a member of this family is called a felid. The most familiar felid is the domestic cat, which first became associated with humans about 10,000 years ago; but the family includes all other wild cats, including the big cats.

Extant felids belong to one of two subfamilies: Pantherinae (which includes the tiger, the lion, the jaguar, and the leopard), and Felinae (which includes the cougar, the cheetah, the lynxes, the ocelot, and the domestic cat).

The first felids emerged during the Oligocene, about 25 million years ago. In prehistoric times, a third subfamily, known as Machairodontinae, included the "saber-toothed cats", such as the well known Smilodon. Also, other superficially cat-like mammals, such as the marsupial sabertooth Thylacosmilus or the Nimravidae, are not included in Felidae despite superficial similarities.

" well, continuing on, let's delve into the first few species, shall we? We will first break down the subfamily Pantherinae, and the Genus Panthera, in which there exist four species. First up, the famous ruler of all cats, the lion. Can anyone tell me the scientific name of the lion? anyone?"

(glances at clock) "Alright, guys, i guess class is dismissed. Your assignment for tomorrow is to review each of the 41 species of cat, decide which is your favorite, and post a video of said cat species by this time tomorrow. For all of our absent friends, if you see them, please let them know about the assignment, and i look forward to seeing which of you bright young minds will be joining me next period for Spanish 101. That's all, you may leave at your leisure. Thank you."
