I play a lot of games myself and I do enjoy MMO games quite a bit because it allows me to connect with more people that share similar interests. Of course that could be said about just about every multiplayer game that you can play online these days, but it seems that MMORPG's are at the height of the Community Ladder.

What do you all think on this matter?

I definitely have connected with people in an MMO, so much that even when I stopped playing we would still chat over Facebook. The only huge problem I see is they can be very time consuming, which doesn't necessarily comply with my life at all times. But I enjoy them quite a bit.

I am really excited for The Elder Scrolls: Online, actually.

I've played so many MMOs since I was a kid. Nothing beats Ultima Online, vanilla WoW and EVE Online. I just feel like more recent MMOs lack that community magic that used to be around in older ones. I haven't played an MMO religiously since the Burning Crusade. The longest I played one was for 7 years and that was UO with WoW coming in close behind it with about 5 years. I tend not to stick with games that don't have a human element to them cause they eventually bore me. Humans are interesting. Guess that's why MMOs are so attractive to me.

I've been playing WoW on and off since TBC. I can confidently say I've never gotten back into it as hardcore. Though Mists of Pandaria is pretty cool, I only get on it here and there.

I've played FFXI, FFXIV, DDO, DFO, and about 5 others that i did free trials on, still active in DDO, and FFXIV(well... I'll be active once its back online)

strangest thing is, I've only met two others face to face who have sunk any time into a MMO(both WoW players).
I've become much more casual in my playing as time has gone on, no more 10-hour FFXI marathons for me, but when the community is going well, its unlike almost anything out there due to the amount of time to accomplish most end-game goals and the neccessity of large scale co-op play... 40 people taking on one boss can't help but build friendships.

I don't think technology is at the point yet where those games and work and also be fun. The gameplay is too restricted by the technology available.

No... I've given them a try before... I just can't get into them. I'm more into single-player games anyway.

Some are okay, some are terrible. I like Grand Fantasia the most and a game called Dragon Nest made by Nexon. Ugh, I remember being addicted to Maplestory when I first played it back in 2009. How embarrassing. -_-

I like playing them but a lot of people can be major assholes, so I often stop when I've had enough with stupid and overused sexist jokes like "make me a sandwich" or "why are you playing games woman? Get back in the kitchen".

I like them, but I've only played FF11 on pc, and DC Universe on the ps3. I Played them a lot, just not as long as most. If I never bought my ps3 I would still be playing FF11 more then likely. When FF 14 is re-released, I will definately be playing that.

MMO gameplay is slowing becoming my favorite style of gaming. currently playing wow, guild wars 2 and diablo 3 (even though its pretty weak and a let down.) Really newer console games (aside from sweet ps3 JRPGS) are becoming increasingly boring... especially games that do that stupid like combo lock where it brings up the button queues... not a fan.
