No one would deny that Kimura is so good in all the shows, dramas and movies that we have seen. But he has limited dramas and movies where he will choose the ones he likes/wants.

But what other roles can he play? Can he do well as gigolo, fish monger, triad boss, gay, boxer or etc? If he were really to act as gigolo, I think I would probably die. Hehehe...

Just curious how his fans would rate him in other roles, or what do you think that he can try for his future roles in drama/movie

Please comment how you would want to see Kimura next..

well I dunno, he's pretty much done everything. A lot of people say that he takes the same kinda roles and never take on new challenges...Yeah right *rolls eyes* so revenge seeking chef and an innocent pianist are the same thing, eh?
So I dunno, I think he does a good job of challenging himself with different roles and I think he's one of the most diverse actors out there. So any roles he chooses, I'm fine with it.

other roles

Every great actor have done a transvestite role...or rather dressed as a woman....examples are: Robin Williams, Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta to name a few....I would like to see Takuya Kimura doing just that....a male dressed as a woman and how he copes with it...that could be very interesting and fun.....I wonder how the Asian people will accept it? Is he going to do it for the sake of art or will he reject it because of his macho image.....since he can sing....he can do a musical too...something like: a washed up actor who needs to have a comeback....accidentally, he dresses up as a woman and he click....then comes his adventures and relationships as a woman and as a man with the people sorrounding him, the community, his family and friends....isn't that different from his other roles? isn't it interesting to see how he will manage it?

hmmm lets see a few tht I like to see:
1) street-racer - somthing like Initial-D / Legend of Speed I know he did Engine but street racing has different feeling.
2) complex genius character such as `L' Death Note, Sir John Wilmot (Jonny Depp) in Libertine
3) character with personality disorders~Mort (Jonny Depp) in Secret Window, somthing like 1 mill stars but "heavier"
4) someone with deadly disease~ we have seen him Beautiful Life as a partner to a dying gf but how will he takes up the role I wonder. I've seen a few (one) J-actor took role as dying patient but not very convincing (most dying roles were taken by J-actress were great) . Let see if Kimura can pull this role beautifully.

"Accepted invite of "Gohatto" for a young samurai whose beauty lights up the entire garrison, prompting a violent sequence of events. But the directer Nagisa Oshima suddenly had an apoplectic fit. When the movie moved off again three years later, Takuya was occupied. Oshima later said that was his biggest regret. (1996)" ~quoted

I watched Gohatto Tabuu last night, I believed the movie has very good storyline but the plots that they portrays are slightly meek or probably the movie was cut/editted extensivley. Im not very happy with the lead bishounen samurai, very stiff & expressionless. I believed if Kimutaku was able to take this role "Gohatto" will be much more interesting. Will they make a second "Gohatto"? I will totally support if Kimutaku takes the role but they probably looking for younger actor (well?..Yamapi?~came out while I watch Gohatto)..
@looleyta: I wouldnt mind him taking such role...challange oneself & improvising characters..^_^

my tip to fully enjoy watching movies etc, when entering the "scene" (be it theater, cinema, living-room etc.) take-off the `idol images' off your shoulder hang the `image' on a hook leave it in you room. Sit-down, empty your mind, accept the characters NOT the actors, feel the situation, understand the issues, understand the characters. When its ends THINK of a conclusion, look up for related information if the story is non-fiction. Only then you will feel what the story is about and if the movie was good or moderate and if your idol has given his/her best ^ ^v

sorry 4 this very long side-track, Im tired of reading movie comments like `blood-bath', meaningless, gorry, WTF, the sounds are off, what? ** got killed in the end!, *** always HOTS!, ** KAwaiii.., this is too old, what no color?b/w?..

Mina~san (me again ^ ^v) gomen;

yes I remember Junichiro Koizumi now, I think he is the most oustanding Japan prime minister (and very different/casual/open) from the previous more orthodox admin. I believed so he was responsible in Japan more *open-door* to the world less *back-door* hence bribery.

Kimutaku will suit well in portraying Koizumi (believed so)===> ahhh I can't wait to watch it now already!

BUt Madonna song (well...) though I prefer Japanese artist/song..maybe to show Koizumi's good term with the US? (but I really..Modonna...thinking of U2!? is U2 brits? well the image of Madonna is sooo not patriotism..)

i haven't seen KT in action dramas or movies...i guess that's because he's image is a guy next door...but think about this, every actor needs to evolve their persona in the movies...just like any other actors in Hollywood where they had emerged from a boy-next-door to action flicks to romance...he's just like matthew mcConaughey in his films...i guess he lacks in-depth characterization of the roles...maybe if he'll take these roles he'd be more famous as an actor...but then, i guess that's the trade in johnny's entertainment..their actors have boy-next-door image, if not comedians...however, i like the kakkoii takuya because it's his trademark...like anyone else...

101303san ...i agree with your comment : "my tip to fully enjoy watching movies etc, when entering the "scene" (be it theater, cinema, living-room etc.) take-off the `idol images' off your shoulder hang the `image' on a hook leave it in you room. I believe i won't be able to finish watching other KT's drama if i only think about how boring he portrayed the same role again, but i thought of how different he acted in that drama...how his talent evolved from one character to another...i think what makes KT's drama interesting is not just because he's KT, but the storyline of most of his dramas are just excellent.
