That diagram up there is only one representation of the deep web, compared to the normal web.
However, the content on the deep web is much more disturbing once you see it with your own eyes.

The deep web is defined by Wikipedia as:


What Wikipedia neglects to mention is that the deep web contains pages and pages of things that no one would be able to find on the normal internet; such as books about weapon making and terrorism, illegal pornography, disturbing images, and an illegal drug/firearm trade.

Although you need to download anonymous browser Tor to access deep web pages (also known as .onion domains), it is very easy to browse the deep web once it is installed.

Entire pages on the deep web are dedicated to grotesque, disturbing, and sometimes interesting things. WikiLeaks resides on the deep web, as does banned books, banned movies, and supposedly, snuff films and fights to the death .

There are also stores devoted to selling illegal drugs, the most famous being the Silk Road.

I'm not going to reveal much more, that you can go find out about for yourself.
EDIT: There are also hackers and viruses. In fact, hackers/viruses are abundant, even moreso than on the surface internet.

The Onion network is only a small percentage of the deep web, and there is much more content hiding beneath it; government secrets, assassination networks/communities, etc.

That's why Facebook is the most dangerous trap ever made, if you're a FB user then someone in the "deep web" already has a copy of your profile and personal informations. Using your real name on the intenetz... good luck!

If you don't have a reason to go there then honestly you are better off ignoring it.

It's similar to finding an unlit alley where a bunch of unknown people hang out.... You don't know what you will find, but there is a good chance it will be something you didn't want to stumble into.

I really have nothing to say about this (Mainly 'cause I forgot most of it and I don't feel like scrolling up again...). But like what -Vega- said, it's good information. Disturbing is probably the best word for it, I guess. I would love to attempt to catch just a glimpse of the Marianas Web, but maybe another day...I wonder what people who are a bit too zoned-out to notice we are being somewhat blocked by the majority of the information we should know would do when the saw this. lol.. well, it's easy to make copies of web pages and I'm 100% sure that scammers use bots to automatically save copies of FB profiles in search of "delicate" informations, if they were able to do it when I was 11 I guess they're still doing it.
