This one isn't recent but its my all time hated anime series - 11 eyes. Couldn't handle watching the whole series (and i "always" watch from start to finish if possible). Even to this day I shudder at the name...
There's nothing worse then a main character that is useless and constantly having the typical "im weak" complex when they have a power and do nothing with it (Hiiro No Kakera is an excellent example of this). Not to mention the lame characters, I wanted to stab the girl that starts having mental problems later in the series and is obsessed with the main character. Didn't care much for the others and the initial twist that the good guys were apparently bad just ruined it for me - they were trying way too hard

One piece and fairytale.

Well, if we're talking about things I thought I was going to like but didn't, then Elfen Lied and Sword Art Online (that's right, I didn't like SAO before it was cool).

If we're talking about things I started off liking but then got worse...Soul Eater, perhaps. Oh, and 07 Ghost. The first episode was ridiculously amazing.

Arcana Famiglia. It looked like it was going to be this shounen tournament arc series but after the first episode it just devolves into a bunch of fucking filler. Don't even bother with it.

King of Thorn. It suffered from the same problem as the X/1999 movie--it tried to cram several volumes' worth of manga material into a two-hour movie. It became a convoluted mess that made no sense. Don't waste your time.

Inuyasha. I seriously got into anime at a point where every otaku had to have seen at least one episode of this series. Watched it on Adult Swim for years only to see it end with a massive cop-out ending. And only NOW do we get Final Act! The damage was done years ago! Give it the Hellsing Ultimate treatment. Disregard the first anime and FA and just make a complete reboot that actually follows the manga instead! If we can get it with Hellsing, Fullmetal Alchemist, Negima, Hunter x Hunter, and X, there's no reason why Inuyasha can't get the same treatment.

Air Gear. Same thing with Inuyasha above--watched all of 25 episodes only to see it end without anything resolved. Why insult the viewers this way? Screw this bad show--read the manga instead!

Bleach. It was great up until the early Hueco Mundo arc. Cue the massive amount of fillers crammed into HM. Why can't they just take season breaks like American shows do? What do they think is going to happen?

Negima!! but only that version, the manga and the other anime that was made has both been good imo Although i hated the ending in the "original" anime ^^

The two that instantly come to mind are the Sayonara, Zetsubou Sensei saga and Demon King Daimao. Good god, they were both absolutely horrid. I'm personally surprised that I finished the whole SZS saga. It was literally a difficult challenge.

Fairy Tail for me, especially now with the Grand Magic Games arc. I can't get over how horrible this arc is.

I had high hopes for the Fourth Shinobi World War in Naruto, but it turned out to be a HUGE disappointment. I just don't care about the series, hell I stopped caring after the Hidan and Kakuzu arc.

I don't usually go into an anime with high hopes. If anything, I'm always expecting cliches from animes I'm about to watch. The Pet Girl of Sakurasou is one of the anime I thought was going to suck but turned out to be exceptional.


Muv-Luv Total Eclipse, on the other hand, was an anime I thought was going to rock, I thought it was going to be a Full Metal Panic! 2.0... but it's so mediocre.
The concept and plot are fine, but... the characters are all annoying, I don't connect to any of those characters and they're so unrealistic.

Like someone who is a Lieutenant shouldn't be so weak-minded and indecisive.

I like characters that are realistic and unique and didn't appear in hundred of animes before already.

first :
cowboy bebop for taking in outlaw star fans and lower it's ratings and killing outlaw star's chance of a season 2, then sucking ass so hard it kills it's own chance of further seasons too. not to mention spike was a horrible MC.

second:
ichigo 100%, junpei manaka should have ended up with toujo aya, but the author kept going writing for another year or so, and he ended up with the damn blonde. (although the anime and specials ended somewhere during high school still, I think during summer break or right after second year started)

School Days

I liked the first 2 episodes, but then it went downhill, fast... -.-

This, i swear I heard so much hype for Blue Exorcist, but when I actually watched it I was very disappointed.

Evangelion and FLCL. I think it's mainly because I disliked the protagonist in both shows.

Fate Stay Night, Original FMA and This ugly yet beautiful world. Their endings completely ruined all the enjoyment I got out of the series.

Also an anime that went in a direction that I didn't see coming(though I wasn't hyped going in) was Kimi ga Nozomu Eien(Rumbling Hearts) Dat 2nd episode plot twist. That anime made me feel horrible for days afterword. So emotional
