Hey does anyone know why some of the titles on this site are obviously edited for content like nudity ect.? I started watching Majikoi Oh! Samurai Girls and it is under the mature option in genres but when watching you can totally tell that it has been edited for content. Checked Demon king Daimao and it too is also was edited in the same fashion (random object covering up boobs or inappropriate under skirt/ panty shot). Then went for the money with Queen's Blade which does have all of it's nudity it seems so I'm a little perplexed by this site. Write back and let me know what you know or think.

CR just gets whatever the Japanese TV broadcast stations get as well
so if theirs is edited, the shows on CR will be too

The files are censored already when CR gets them for the streaming, only the blu-ray and dvd versions are uncensored (usually). Anyway, it depends, for example Hayate 1st season here on CR has no censorship while the TV version was ridiculously censored.

I despise censorship on anime, and not because I want to see boobs, it annoys me as an artist... that and usually they go overboard with the censorship. HUGE icons with faces on them covering half the screen (majikoi), bats that cover half the character (rosario vampire 2), Light Beams of Doom (several anime did this), and the worst I can remember was Saikon no Qwaser where they cut and edited the frames so that certain shots would be moved off camera, or they just obliterated the scene with "mist".

I don't mind when some things get censored. I even appreciate it at times (I admit it, I'm a little squeemish when it comes to gore).

but ultimately I would rather they do it in a way that fits.

Deadman Wonderland I think is a good example of doing it right. Using dark shadows most of the time. It worked, it fit the mood of the show and in a lot of cases it felt pretty seemless (not always but it worked more often then not)

I totally agree with you kitsuneshoujo. I find it really distracting when you are watching something like Majikoi and also find that it takes away from the humor of the whole situation. But find it just a little odd that there are anime on here that are censored but you can stream them elsewhere with out the censoring, like Demon King Dameo you can watch it uncensored on Netflix why not here? I alos understand that CR gets these shows from broadcast tv so that is just how they receive them.

Crunchyroll does not actively censor its content. The videos that we have on the website are what we are provided directly from the publishers.

Often times the publishers will censor the shows for TV so they can help boost DVD and BD sales.

I apologize for any inconvenience.
