Probably last year or 2 years ago I watched an anime called "Ga-Rei Zero" and I actually liked it, minus the cliche high school crap and fan service. After that I figured out that the anime was just the backstory of the manga named "Ga-Rei". So I read the whole manga and I was so engaged in it. And from what I saw in the manga, I think turning this into an action anime would be pretty darn sweet. Was the manga not credited enough to be turned into an anime? I really wondered why. In my eyes I think Ga Rei is good enough to be turned into an anime, it's probably more better than most crappy anime I've seen lately.

Now if people never watched Ga-Rei Zero, they probably don't know what I'm talking about. And people who never read the manga as well, definitely don't have any idea what the hell I'm on about.

Ga Rei is about this guy (who is not a total loser) who meets this girl by accidentally kissing her, then after that he gets involved in her job. What is her job? Killing supernatural things that are a threat to the real world. Oh and what happens between the guy and girl? They begin to develop romantic feelings for each other obviously.

Lol for some reason, this reminds me of Bleach for some reason. It's not a rip off though, trust me.

So yeah. Will they ever turn Ga Rei into an anime? I loved the action in the manga.

Find the Japanese sales numbers for the show. If they were good and the show made money, then, yes, it's possible. If they were average/bad then no, there won't be one. Money is usually the determinant.

Yeah. But 45 seconds isn't enough for me.

For some reason, I feel like backstories are usually more interesting then the actual stories. I haven't read the manga, but from my understanding, Yomi is the main villain, and is a villain in every sense of the word. She was also a villain in Ga-Rei-Zero, but she was also someone that you come to understand as a character. If I understand correctly, one of the biggest draws of GRZ was that you get to see someone that you've regarded as purely evil as a good guy, and then follow her descent (again I haven't read the manga, so don't trust me with this). If that's true, then that story is done, and Ga-Rei would be a completely different type of show. Based on how long Ga-Rei has been out, I doubt it will be animated, but then again, it's not like I'd be surprised to hear that it would be animated.

I'd love to see a Ga-Rei anime especially if it was done by the same people that did Ga-Rei: Zero since I loved every thing about it. Though since its been a few years not sure it'll be made which is sad. For the record I've seen the anime series and read both the mangas, as there are 2 that I know of. I will admit I like Kagura x Yomi but I eventually warmed up to Kensuke x Kagura xD.

I'd actually suggest reading the manga too since imo watching the anime gives a good lead in to the manga's story. Yomi isn't completely irredeemable in the manga and I personally think the story was well handled though I know some may disagree.

This is just what other people have mentioned elsewhere, but I've heard that Kagura is much more of a "damsel in distress" in Ga-Rei than in Ga-Rei-Zero. Now, since a huge part of Ga-Rei-Zero was Kagura's growth as a fighter and as a person, it would feel jarring to me for her to be reduced to that. Also, I think the anime ended really powerfully. So speaking as someone who's never read the manga, I don't feel the need for an adaptation of the Ga-Rei manga, even though I really loved Ga-Rei-Zero.

I don't really see her as being a "damsel in distress" since she does fight her own battles for the most part but the story seems to try and balance who is the MC (Kagura or Kensuke) imo. It expands on the Ga-Rei-verse and if done right would live up to Zero.

For the record, I would also love to see the manga adapted. If nothing else just to see....

I have read the first couple chapters, I will probably eventually read the rest.

AHAHAHA! That's exactly how I felt. I watched the anime before reading the manga. And damn was I depressed at the ending of Ga-Rei Zero. That was actually one of the most powerful endings I've seen in anime history. But when I saw the manga I was like

"What in the fuck is going on...YOMI NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN. It's been too long. Wait...not long enough."

It's on my list of things to do, but it isn't very high on the list, and the list is pretty long. I do want to give it a try, but I've got a lot of things that need to come first. All in all though, I do think I'd enjoy it.
