On a personal note I think Gundam Wing was still my favorite series.
Zeta Gundam was pretty amazing though. It continued shortly after the 1 year war of the original Gundam series but was still had it's own story to tell without dragging out TOO much of the original series. The darker turn Zeta took compared to the original was pretty notable. Kamile Bidan went through two models of Gundam through the whole series which I think was neat since it helps illustrate the evolution of MS technology that was going on during that point. Things were changing so fast you would almost think that these MSs were PCs as far as how relatively quick they became outdated. Towards the end of the series even the Gundam MK 2(Kamile's starting MS) needed a serious upgrade to stand a chance.
Hopefully these friday Gundam deals will be some cool model kits. I would love a good excuse to expand my MS collection!

If anime had an award show here in America like the VGAs and they did a anime hall of fame I believe Gundam should be the first to be put in if not the first I still believe it should still be put in seeing as how it defined the real robot series and how a war story is suppose to be like. I also like how it brought in issues that we still deal with today like political, race, and religion it also showed that war is very traumatizing because if you look at the characters in the series you cant say that the war they were in did not leave some kind of scar which in my opinion Gundam 00 showed that quiet well.

What I most loved about Zeta is that they designed all sorts of cool mechanisms. They took the "anatomy"(?) of ALL the mecha even more seriously than they did in the original Gundam.

Zeta is only preceded by the original 1979 Mobile Suit Gundam Series. There are a few that were released years afterward that shine light on some of the interwar period. I haven't watched those, however. The 79' Gundam series is very similar to the 2004-2009 Battlestar Galactica series, if you like Battlestar. As far the alternate universes, they are great and enjoyable but not necessary.

I will add that Season 1 of Gundam 00 mirrors Gundam Wing very well while Season 2 falls in line with Zeta Gundam.

Cruchyroll you should also try and get the other Gundams too like ZZ Gundam, Turn A, After War Gundam X, Victory, and AGE since those are the only ones that are not available legally well AGE is, but only to like two regions. -___-

Come on Sunrise please let this happen. Please add the classics! T^T

I can't completely say you're wrong, as most of the UC gundam series correlate with each other; but if you watch any of the alternate universe gundam, (Seed Wing,00, G, Turn A, X and... I think there's one more I'm forgetting) These can be watched individually and still enjoyed. If you're into anime where mecha are the key point of battle, then the Gundam franchise is definitely a great part of that experience!

Gundam X was the only gundam series to be cancelled. I don't know if Sunrise considers that one the red headed step gundam or not... I think since it made it into Dynasty Warriors Gundam 3 that it might be ok though.

I agree! I would also like to add that you should not be confused about whether ZZ Gundam is an anime or not. Despite it's misleading theme song, I have it on good authority that it actually IS an anime. An anime that you should pick up and put in the anime section of your website, and definitely not the drama one. I don't pay for the drama membership anymore, so I would hate to see ZZ Gundam picked up and put in that category because someone on the staff watched the first episode and then was like "Uh oh, this opening song says that this show is NOT an anime, I'd better not put it in that section."

If you're looking for a traditional Gundam series that you can just jump into I'd recommend the original(simply titled Mobile Suit Gundam), Gundam Seed, or Gundam 00. All three are available legally online, though Seed is only available on Youtube and not Crunchyroll.

I'd second watching SEED. The original isn't all that bad, all things considered aside from maybe that STUPID STUPID plot twist regarding Kira and Cagalli (Those two had by far, the most natural chemistry in the show. Yes, I'm STILL ticked about what could have been an interesting relationship.)

Just don't watch Destiny. If you absolutely, positively have to watch Destiny, watch the compilation movies or better yet, go play the original Super Robot Taisen Z! (Even Shinn's VA, Kenichi Suzumura, admitted that the game's portrayal of Shinn is much better and closer to what he pictured Shinn being like when he was voicing him!)

That's incorrect, the original was also cancelled as well. Both luckily were able to come up with an ending in the time allotted, but it really hurt Gundam X, since what was supposed to be about a 13 episode arc was squeezed into 3. Gundam X doesn't get a whole lot of love, despite for me being the best AU gundam series. However, I think the show that Bandai/Sunrise has snubbed the most would be Victory Gundam.

First saw this series dubbed on Youtube and despite the aged animation, it is better than most of the stuff being aired now and a great plot making one my favorites of the UC continuity. Would be more happy if they could get the original OP & EDs but nevertheless happy its up.
