I'm gonna have to go with Asuna, cause she's pretty badass. Not saying that Kirito isn't, but when they were in the SOA game he never felt like he had to protect her because he knew that she could handle herself in battle.

He is not exactly a loner.
He chooses to be alone because he doesn't want to be hurt by losing someone he care about.
I understand this because i did the same thing. But then he find someone that he can't live with out and he choices her over all and makes sure everone knows it. I understand this too but i have one one whom makes me feel this way
He is my favorite character  because of the extent of his love which is his strength that his enemies take as a weakness.

I voted for Kirito, because I think he's just an awesome character. In every episode, I could feel his thoughts and emotions. His strength is indeed valuable.... Also, Starburst Stream was just so epic; one of the coolesy ''badass move'' I have ever watched.
Indeed, I could have voted Asuna too just because she is one of the few female character which do not need to be always protected. She is almost as good as Kirito and they both find their strength in love.
And when both are together, they are so inspiring. They really make the ideal couple.

Kirito! I really like his sword and outfit. In other words, his character design! My second favourite would definitely be Sinon, though.
