Do you know yourself better than other people know you?
|
We've all heard the saying. That other people often know you better than you know yourself. Do you think this applies for you?
In some cases, I think it applies to me, but in other cases, not so much. |

I know myself more than anybody. I also know and understand certain people more than they do themselves. That should be one of your goals in life; to know and understand yourself.

I can already control reality with my mind, banning me is pointless.

I've spent a lot of time studying myself actually. I used to do what's called an examination of conscience where I exam my every actions and behaviors everyday, so that I can try to understand myself and be a better Christian. But I stopped recently for some reason. I really need to get back to that... this thread was actually a good reminder for me, lol. But I think in most cases, I feel that I know myself better than other people know me.
I'll have to completely agree with you on that one. |

Yes totally. I know that I'm a hypocrite while they don't.

No. I tend to do a lot of self-examination in my spare time. It's actually the exact opposite, where I tend to know more about people than they do about me.

I like to spend time analyzing my actions and what I do. I've noticed self-reflection helps me understand myself better as well as make better decisions. I also feel like what people think of you can merely be a perception from what facts they know or assumptions they've made. It's rare someone truly understands you. |

I know myself quite a bit better than other people know me. That's not necessarily to say I know and understand myself well (I like to think I do, but who knows if I'm right?), rather I'm quite a secretive person, so others just don't know a huge amount about me aside from the immediately apparent. Although having said that, I do have a couple of friends who can second-guess my actions pretty well.

People know "themselves" more than others do to a certain extent, because you always need that outside source to acknowledge you're you and that you exist. That and so they can point out some external details about you that you might not notice

Once you meet your true inner self, you will know everything about you and others. The external self of someone will often just be a total misinterpretation to someone else. Much of what people know about you is an illusion or delusion within their minds of you because they are running on the illusion that we are all separate. We are all One.

Depends how smart your friends are. If you're surrounded by idiots, then of course you know yourself best. If you're surrounded by brilliant peeps, you might as well just blush preemptively, because you're going to anyway.
