Did anyone watch the fight? Looks like the end of an era to me. Never expected the Pacman to get knocked out, but I guess it was time. Maybe he lost a little steam after the Bradley fight.

What are your thoughts on the fight and how the boxing world's going to be changed in general without Pacman defending the title?

Yes. Anything can happen inside a ring, but I admit I was a bit surprised that it happened.
It doesn't really matter what Pacquiao did anymore. Yes, he came out and boxing had its surges once more, like when everyone got fired up for a Mayweather vs. Pacman fight which they begged for 24/7.

However, boxing as a sport is dying itself. The golden days of boxing with Holyfield, Tyson, and Ali have passed a long time ago.

I feel as if in a few years, MMA will be THE combat sport, not boxing anymore. I've been across a few states and I've seen that boxing is not as prevalent anymore. I did boxing through high school, but it was damn hard to find people interested in it.

Yeah opinions everyone has em.

Pacman beat himself. He was too worried about what everyone said about Marquez being the better fighter last time, judges giving Bradley the win because he played to safe in that fight, and all that nonsense. He was winning the fight, every judge had it scored in his favor, he was even winning the 6th round. He lost because he stopped thinking about winning the fight and started thinking about "knocking out Marquez" whose only real skill as a boxer is being able to take a punch. Don't forget that this was match 4 and Marquez had never knocked down Pacquiao even once until this fight.

One lucky punch doesn't make you the better fighter, one lucky punch doesn't even mean you fought the better fight. One lucky punch can get the better fighter knocked out though which is what we saw happen. Pacquiao threw a wild right he didn't need to, over extended himself, and baby fed his chin to Marquez literally walking into the punch. Anyone could have knocked him out with that set up.

It was a great fight with a very disappointing ending. Not only because the better fighter lost, but because it is probably going to end the career of the only boxer worth following in years. It also signals another dirge for Boxing in general.

Yeah, I guess I'd have to agree with you there. Even with Pacquiao, it's definitely nothing like it was when Tyson was in the ring. I feel like this will probably be the final nail in the coffin though. And MMA is definitely taking over as far as combat sports are concerned. I find a lot more people training and competing in it than in boxing. I like UFC, but I could do without the constant ground and pound. I'm hoping old school MMA will cycle back around into the spotlight.

I have respect for Pacquiao and Marquez. As much as I hate to see Manny go down, I have to admit that Marquez did a great job. He played it smart. Especially that well-placed counter at the end.

Part of me wants to see a Pacquiao vs Marquez V, but they've done this Pacquiao vs Marquez thing to death. Kind of hoping they'll give it a rest now. Too bad Pacquiao vs. Mayweather never happened.

Yeah, at their prime it would've been a great fight.
