Any old school Halo 1 PC players still out there somewhere?

For those who don't know, it was hell'a fun and super competitive -

I played Halo 1 - and yeah it was fun back then, but I doubt it would be anywhere near as fun now as it was... and diodrin, Halo 4 ending up on PC would be amazing! Unfortunately:

Will they change their mind? Will they even allow a community-made port? Well, we all know what Microsoft is like, not a chance.

I loved Halo 1 on PC. Way better than all the the recent halos mostly because of one thing: Custom Edition. I played for so long because the amount and quality of mods are astounding. Even now the Halo 1 PC community is very active. For me, a game that is modable is worth much more than one that isn't. It provides the games with a much longer lifespan because it increases replay value by a huge margin and instead of paying for DLC (which is usually in the game's files anyway, just locked), people can create whatever their hearts desire. The Source engine is an example of another high modable engine and look how long it's been around, with even people still creating mods for Half-Life 1. Modern games lack so much because you are restricted to what the developers give you which gets boring real fast.

TL;DR
Halo 1 PC is awesome and the best of the halo franchise because (along with many other factors) it has what all the other halo games (except Halo 2 PC) lack: The development tools for people to create mods for it.

I haven't returned to H1 for a while.. We used to have tournament brackets for $$$$, there are thousands of montages of great old school players on YouTube, and the best news is that the Halo 1 PC community is actually growing.

Our dead tournament bracket from the old days has come back alive in 2012-2013 somehow and a lot of leftover noobs seem to be playing each other.. but oh well, at least the 12 year old game is back from the dead. http://halopc.org/

There has been big racial diversity change over the years. I remember playing back in '05-'08 years with USA teams, but now Halo is full of Hispanic players from Spain, Colombia, and Mexico. It's really fun.. I played a bit last year with them and it's still really fun. There's lots of good shooters still!

Here's some eye candy as tokens of good memories. [: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vucZMCv8oqk

You can buy it on Amazon, your local Wal-Mart (if you have one) just MIGHT have it still in stock. However, most people just download the cracked version off of YouTube because it's just easier that way. If you do decide to do so, make sure you download a gaming chat client called xfire because people usually use that to befriend each other and etc. there.
