Well I never have been that much into anime much and I have also been pretty "strict" about what animes I choose to watch, because some things I just find too "lame" or way too weird.
I did get this feeling and still have it a bit, I just didnt find them that much amusing anymore to watch and felt more like "Wow, that was stupid, what a complete waste of time" more, but then I found an anime that I really liked and started to gain a bit of interest in it again. |

I kind of feel you. But then again, when a series starts that i really like, it's the same child-like love for anime all over again. I also re-watch the shows that I love.

I'm too young to be getting too old for this.

I'm not at this point yet, I accept that one day this would happen and I wouldn't find anime interesting anymore.
But as I say, I am not at this point yet and will continue watching anime until this point is reached, and hopefully this will not be any time soon. |

It feels like forever since Gunbuster came out... |

I get that feeling once in a while. Then eventually a new show comes along that reminds me why I love anime and I get interested again, and so the cycle goes.

No Sailor Moon this summer? Boo.

you must understand that manga/anime culture is also evolving along with the times. that means the tastes and sensibilities of the audience change overtime, and the industry has to keep up with it. it is a business after all. you may have simply liked a style or genre that no longer exists in the industry. but it can be also that your tastes have changed as well. i've been watching anime for more than 10 years now, but i still find new shows interesting.

@ Shrapnel: I won't watch the ecchi/harem shows you listed, as those genres are as dead as WCW now. I'll take TNA's Knockouts and WWE's Divas over one-dimensional anime girls with impossibly big boobs. Sure, Gunbuster had its share of T&A but it at least had a plot.
I may give Diebuster, Nadia, Magical Index, Petit Cossette, Dante's Inferno, Shangri-La (Since Range Murata worked on it), Genius Party, and K-On! a shot at some point or another. |

From one anime fan to another: It's better if you watch a few good anime than an assload of bad ones. |

I felt that way for about 4 years... I first started watching anime when I was in gr one... It was Inuyasha and that had me hooked for ages, I started losing interest in grade eight because the animes we're very good, and now im hooked again xD. So I guess for me it's an on and off thing. But I think it has more to do with which ones you're watching, I personally don't find SAO any good either.
Try something like magi, or Inuyasha |

I felt the same exact way back in high school. All throughout my childhood I absolutely loved anime and then when it got around sophomore year in highschool I just couldn't get through a few episodes of a series I literally lost all interest in it.... and it really sucked. But while in college I got into a few shows and fell in love with anime again. I guess some time off, whether it be a month (or in my case a few years), might be a good idea in your case. I hope you can revitalize you passion for anime again brother

I feel like the newer anime's aren't to my interest as they used to be. Therefore making me watch less newer anime than ever before. I still watch newer ones every now and then (well try to, most have been dropped) to see if there is anything I would like. But I'll never ever truly stop watching anime because I still have all the past anime's that I love. (Cowboy Bebop,FLCL,Samurai Champloo,Gundam, etc etc)
Plus I still have animes that I haven't finished yet and some that I haven't discovered yet. Just keep searching because there is always something to watch, whether it be from 2007 or 2012. Like the 'newest' anime I watched recently and really really like was Sword of the Stranger, Steins;Gate, and Katanagatari . :O These past few months I've find myself reading more manga than watching new anime too. There are plenty of manga to read while I wait for something interesting. :] Check out my anime list under my anime stats to see what I watched, watching, dropped if anyone wants something "new''. Also hit me up if you just wanna know my opinion of an anime I watched or somethin on animeplanet: http://www.anime-planet.com/users/DestinyStarX |

I'm not losing any interest at all. 12 years and still going strong. I actually watched a lot more this year than I ever have.
