You're in the apocalypse and almost out of food.
|
You haven't seen an animal or abandoned house in days. You've already gone three days without anything to eat, and when you check your bag you notice all the left over food you had has started to mold. Would you eat the last bit of food that has molded, or hope you find some while moving forward and searching?

I'd eat it, better of eating mouldy food than nothing. I mean, at that rate, I would most likely be going to die anyway, so why not at least eat that last bit and hope it gives me enough energy to move further forward, and possibly find some.
That's my hypothetical answer, in reality I'd probably attempt to eat it and throw up, which would just stop me from moving forward as I'd be feeling sick lol |

I would drink water and try to find more food, because you can live up to 1-2 weeks without food if you have water -.- I guess I would try to eat it, but I'm not sure:P

I remember reading once that your body tends to adapt to the environment and situation it is in. So, basically, if your on a lifeboat, and all you see are mackerel and driftwood, you may find yourself thinking that fish and driftwood actually looks delicious, despite the fact mackerel spoils really quick, and driftwood is inedible. Chances are, if you do eat them, you may have more chance of survival than death. Although, I'm not completely sure of the validity of this claim.

I would keep going.
Food poisoning will kill me before starvation. |

Whatever, man. I'm immortal.

I can already control reality with my mind, banning me is pointless.

Hmm, just three days in? Humans are surprisingly resilient against starvation.

I still upvote good posts here, even though nothing happens. :/

My food wouldn't get moldy cause in the case of an apocalypse I would salt everything to perserve it.

Keep searching, though hunger can make you eat almost anything.

Would you eat the last bit of food that has molded, or hope you find some while moving forward and searching? I'm having trouble coming to grips with the original terms of your proposal. I haven't eaten for 3 days, Yet I've had food that I didn't eat for 3 days, and has now gone moldy. This situation seems rather asinine. I either ate all the food, or hadn't eaten in 3 days BECAUSE the food I had was moldy. I would not have put off eating the food to THEN find it moldy. However assuming I was this incredibly stupid, or more likely subjugated, to have only brought with me perishable goods on a random journey into, instead of previously inhabited and civilized areas, what seems to be a veritable wasteland with little hope of having found food water or animals in the FIRST place. I would indeed just eat the food. The energy levels in the food haven't really gone down, And most mold can be removed fairly well. Of course I'm also assuming, given my presumed choices above, that'd I'd have also been exceedingly wise to have NOT brought medication with me to counter act any kind of food poisoning or infections I may get on my idiot journey through an empty stretch of nothing. |
