I've watched quite a bit of anime, but I watch it for the story; I don't really pay attention to who created/produced/voiced it.

I've been watching anime since I was a kid and, I'll be 50 in a couple of months. To watch it change and evolve over the course of my lifetime has been amazing. I've followed the careers of many directors, writers, animators, even actors only to benefit my collection with their hard works. It wasn't just great reading but the advent of the internet made for some really fun research. My favorites are the more collaborative efforts of people like Shoji Kawamori, Ichiro Itano, Yoko Kanno, and Shinichiro Watanabe the core of the Macross series which for me wasn't just awesomely entertaining but notably groundbreaking in animation itself. Following the careers of these four alone has brought me to the pleasure of such works as Itano's Gantz and Blassreiter, Shinichiro Watanabe's Escaflowne, Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, Genius Party, and Kids on the Slope, Shoji Kawamori's Ihatobu Genso, (Kenji no Haru) and Chikyu Boei Kazoku, Yoko Kanno (come on) Be Bop, Carcaptor Sakura, Turn A Gundam, Jin - Roh, her work at clamp, Escaflowne, Wolfs Rain, All the Ghost in the Shells, Genius Party, Code Geass Gaiden, Ring of Gundam,Geniesis of Aquarion. I'm sure I missed more than a few of hers. I could go on all night but, really all I'm trying to say is a little bit of reading brings you years of satisfaction. One carear leads you to the next and the next and the next. It's a thing of beauty.
