I'm glad it doesn't happen to me very often, even if I live in a country where the majority is white. But the occasional "You're only good/bad at that because your black"-comment gets through, or "Oh, I didn't think you would speak Swedish so fluently". But then I'm just like "Bitch, my father was in this country before your parents were even born" and then they shut up. (He's 80 and immigrated from Suriname in the 60s). I hate when people assume I'm adopted just because my mother is white, or treat me differently in situations were race or skin-color is mentioned, or assume I like/dislike something because I'm "black".
But mostly me and my friends just joke about it, and act as stereotypical as we can HAHA

There was this one time at work (I work at a mexican restaurant.) Some old lady came up to me saying "HOLA, DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?" I thought about acting like I didn't understand but decided against it. She wanted to know if I or someone I knew cleaned houses. Like, "Housekeeping, housekeeping señor?" Dunno, maybe she thought all mexicans do housekeeping or something.

Oh absolutely. I always get told, "You're Mexican, you should totally talk and act like it. Instead, you act like a white girl." I don't mind it actually, I play along and consider myself a coconut.

I've been racially stereotyped as the pretty boy--black guy who can get girls. A guy asked me if I can help him with getting a date/girlfriend. I felt awkward and told him just because I'm black doesn't mean I can get a girl for you. Sad part, he was in my class and I had to put up with it for awhile. I'm not the guy for favors, I mean come on. He was desperate...feel sorry for the guy.

Yes all the time, by my own family members mostly. Since everyone in my family is outspoken I turned out to be the black sheep. Very reserved and quiet, small voice etc. Most of the time they say I'm weird, or joke about how I'm white. Since I've been dealing with it for so long I just ignore it. I've also had people ask me questions like, why do you listen to rock? Don't you like rap? I hate how people assume that just because you're black you must love rap music, and if you don't then you're obviously a weirdo.

Not too mention I've had countless people imply that I must be mixed (probably because of my skin tone). One time it got so bad I actually yelled 'I'm black' at a guy. He kept asking question after question about my ethnicity.

Pretty much all the time. I go to a university where the majority of the people are white, so I get asked a lot of questions. Then they always think it's funny to point out stuff about me like the way I talk, but I shrug it off.

being raised in a predominantly white city, stereotyping is ingrained in my upbringing..

while im not fond of being put in a box, i do enjoy enlightening people afterwards~

I live in a mainly Hispanic area and get stereotyped on occasion for being white. I don't really take too much notice of it, because I know not everyone is like that.
And when I mention that I was born in Germany, I have had several people ask me whether I was a Nazi........... seriously....

Not really, I may be 80% Hispanic (Argentine to be exact) but I do not act like a hispanic girl. I'm to nerdy for that XD

Yes.

Sometimes people tell me I'm "the whitest black person they've ever met." Then my friend used to call me an "oreo."
