For me when I was growing up by whites I was called a Nigg*er and by blacks I was called a hon*ky. I am of a mixed of race (black, white, english, irish and native american) and went to a private school. When 911 terrorists happened people were asking me if I was middle eastern and now because of the all the Mexicans coming over people ask me if Im Mexican. I guess I confuse people;

Well I am white and American Indian, but most people think I'm 100% white. I was involved in this conversation about who had the right to be in this country and I said that I thought that the people who deserved to be here the most were American Indians. Some one asked me if I were Indian. I said I was. They said that they thought so as if my only reason for thinking the way I thought was because of my race.

On the other hand...my cousin who is more Indian then me, but also is white, is constantly plagued by people trying to speak spanish to him because he has very dark skin.

All the time.

There was a time when I was growing up that I was the only Mexican and dark skin person around in my school. I was often asked questions and if I knew how to speak "Mexican" and picked when I brought left overs from home. Saddens me back then, some of their parents were worried if I was gonna "mug" them or something like that to them. Now, it doesn't bother and used to it.

Growing up in NYC, definitely. It only got worse as I grew up and went to school upstate.
So what, the only ignorant people are the people who don't know you and call you by racial slurs when chances are they don't even know how those slurs came to be.

I used to get called a "dirty Gypsy" all the time in Middle School. Mankind can be SO cruel to One another. We literally are nothing more than vocal animals.

Life didn't give you a break did it? I've suffer some discrimination, but never to that point.

Most recent would be when I've grown out my bread and everyone thought it'd be so funny to call me Al-Qaeda or Osama. In my lifetime I've notice that if people think you're one race or you have a certain origin, that people tend to think you wouldn't get offended if they made fun of another race or origin which always leads to uncomfortable and stressful situations.

Remember Virginia Tech massacre with the Korean gunmen? Everyone thought I looked depressed because I was quiet, plus I was asian. That was enough for people to start making jokes like how I would shoot up a school in a future. Like uh... you just told me I would be a homicidal sociopath in the future. When I showed them how offended I was they would say I'm too sensitive then proceeded to repeat the joke even louder.

Examples of unfunny racists who don't think they are racist is what some people have to deal with their whole lives
