honestly, not that much. i'm mixed (african-american & white) so people can't even tell what race I am.
i've been made fun of and stereotyped for being mixed, or stereotyped with another race.
apparently mixed girls are sluts and rape babies.

Odd because I had an acquaintance through a friend who once said that he only dates black/white biracial girls because bringing home a white girl would get him killed by his parents and that they have a reputation for being skanky. I asked him where that came from, the stereotype and he couldn't pinpoint it. Just said it's what everyone says. But I only ever heard that from him.

Funny to randomly hear about it.

People always mistaken me for being black or half black because of my skin tone.

Here and there, yeah, for little things. People of other races that I've encountered tend to assume I like to fish or watch NASCAR or listen to Country music, stuff like that, since those are heavily associated with white people in my area. Plus, my accent is pretty Southern. If I go just a couple of miles our of my area to where the Coastal Southern dialect gives way to the General American one around Atlanta, people start to comment on it.

A party host proclaimed that she was putting on "my" music and put on reggae. I'd grown up in the Caribbean with Caribbean parents and to me reggae was foreign music since there is a variety of different types of music in the region.

Sometimes I get "What are you?"

In school they told me that I had to be at least part Indian. After a while I gave up arguing and went along with it.

Someone spoke to me in a foreign language and I couldn't answer them because I'm not from where they are from. It might have been Tigrayna (excuse the spelling)

The doc put me down as being from the south Asian subcontinent which is the India region where she's originally from.

Another asked if I was Ethiopian.

Someone asked if I was Jamaican.

Another enquired if I was Indian.

There's also the assumption that I'm a great dancer.

There are those that do get my identity correct.

Another Caribbean person told me my hair was not long enough for my origins

Can white people be stereotyped?

Think honestly.

Yep. I've seen it.

My birth mother gets it a lot. Occasionally when she mentions us being mixed or introduces one of us as her daughters we get some variation of "but she/they don't look black". So many people assume mixed always equals black and white.

Jokes about eating mayonnaise, dancing, her being privileged. She was adopted herself and had very poor, trashy parents. so occasionally someone will pull the white card on her around us and claim how she had a good childhood cause of her skin or some kind of advantage.

Well yeah. Apparantly we are all racist. Um from manys perspectives we all have it easy. I've heard some claim that only white people are mass murderes or engage in incest or pedophilia.
In some parts all whites are considered rich.
I think here in Australia non caucasian Australians stero type white Aussies as being into the football(Australian foot ball), cricket, Beer, BBQ's, meat pies, binge driking, being lazy, etc and they are pretty accuate with that lol..

White girls are all sluts?

White kids are all spoilt undisciplined brats.

White people are non religious.

etc.

Oh and its kind of funny here too, being a hip hop head is pretty much considered a white thing.

Oh and being proud of being white is also racist. So is waving an Australian flag, apparantly.

My birth mom is fully white. I meant to show that her being white people assume she's in to black guys and get confused when they hear or are introduced to one of us. I look obviously mixed and my sister is more towards FOB.

The answer is clear to that. It's yes, as is the same for all races.

I grew up in the ghetto as kids call it these days, while being the only white guy there. You learn a lot in that situation. Wouldn't trade the experiences or people I met for anything though.

(I'm jewish)
I haven't been stereotyped myself, but one time my dad got asked in work where he hid his tail (his coworker "knew" my dad already shaved off his horns).
Also, when I was playing WoW once, someone once asked me if Jewish mothers slap their daughters when they first get their periods.
My friends have also had coins thrown at them by the catholic school kids that drove by, as well as us having swatstikas spray painted on our school

Yes, I am stereotyped a lot because I am Caucasian. I am often told that I have a lot of privileges in life due to my skin color, but Caucasians also experience racist... and as much as other races, too. I just wish racism was a thing that didn't exist.

A lot of people say that racism does not include other races being racist to Caucasians. So when people bash Caucasians, it's not "racism," it's reverse-racism? I just... I don't get it. I have friends who are constantly putting down Caucasians and I see it and don't know how to feel. A lot of these friends are Caucasian as well.

i know how i feel. it makes me upset. putting people down because of their skin color is stupid and lame and there's no excuse for it.

but anyways

isn't there a diff between racism and stereotype? seems this thread has it mixed up lol

When i was 15 my church group when on a trip to Niagara Falls. We walked across to the Canada side. I'm African American by the way, as were most of the kids. It turned out to be the most horrible trip of my life. The people were ridiculously racist. Though I'm assuming most of the offenders were tourists as well. It was my first time being called the N word. I'd never experienced anything like it. It was like i'd gone back in time to the deep south. Anywho. Right before we walked back I stopped at a little shop wanting to get a souvenir or 10 and the guy working there rushed from behind the counter and basically pushed me out. "You're not coming in here and stealing my shit." he said. Boy were my little feelings hurt. I didn't even defend myself I just broke out in tears. Maybe it was the over all stress of the trip because i have never been a crier. At the time i just couldn't believe that he thought i would steal from him because I was black. lol.

A young white couple (they looked to be in their 20s) was coming in at the same time and saw the whole thing. The girl went off on the guy. Her boyfriend put his arm around me. Boy they laid him out. Then they bought me all this stuff. They were great and the only thing about the trip that wasn't complete sh*t.
