For me it'd have to be Shirou from Fate/stay night for being a complete ponce.
Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide ![]() I get what they were going for with him, unfortunately what they were going for was a character who I find extremely frustrating to watch. Most of my problems with the series are centered around my issues with him. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Honorable mention goes to Raki from Claymore. Spoiler Alert! Click to show or hide ![]() I know this post is from the manga (which he actually gets much better in) but he basically sums up his role in the anime perfectly. During the plot he does three things: cry, whine about Claire, and get in the way. You could literally remove him from the series and practically nothing would be lost. While he doesn't grind the plot to a halt for entire episodes like Shirou he does eat into the screen time of the Claymore's, i.e. the only reason anyone is watching the series. |
If I had a type it'd be you, fortunately I don't have a type so please stop.

Makoto from School Days. I mean, who doesn't hate him? I can't even play the visual novel as him without wanting to shoot myself in the face.

Take it easy!

Light. The author can't seem to stop fapping to this character long enough to realize that he's a crappy character.

It's hard for me to get too worked up over an anime character-- after all, they're just anime characters! While I certainly enjoy watching some more than others, I don't know if I can say I "love" or "hate" any of them. Even Makoto from School Days! I've nothing but contempt for him and what he does/did, but I can't really say I hate him. However, there's a pair of characters that come instantly to my mind when I think about this question-- so maybe I do hate them. They're Ryounosuke and Caster from Fate Zero. Of the anime that I've seen, including some fairly violent ones with some pretty screwed-up characters (e.g Deadman Wonderland when it was here on CR), these two are the only characters that really fill me with visceral disgust. They're complete sociopathic soulless killers, even more cruel than any beast, it seems. Maybe what really pushes me over is that they do all this and blaspheme God, and even credit Him with their deeds.
To their "credit," though, that they can cause such feelings in me perhaps makes them very excellent dramatic villains. So, hats off to you two, and your authors! I guess...? |
